One Good Thing

The Doctor could feel it. A tingling sensation making its way to every cell in his body. It was happening again. All over again.

"No! Not now! I've only just started! No!"

His cries echoed throughout the TARDIS, with no one to hear them. Amy was gone. She had left with Rory to start her life over. This time with no imaginary friend. The Doctor was alone. Alone and hurt. He had thought that taking on the Daleks by himself would be easy. And it was. Funny to think that after having defeated a hundred Daleks single handed, that one tiny bullet from a confused bystander would bring the Time Traveler from Gallifrey to this. To standing alone in the TARDIS, fighting off regeneration.

Except, he wasn't really fighting, and if he was, he was losing terribly.

His hands were glowing. Just as they had eleven times before. He couldn't hold it off any longer. Closing his eyes, the Doctor let one solitary tear fall down his face, and then it happened.

A bright light engulfed the inside of the TARDIS along with the Doctor. Seconds later, the light faded.

Standing in the middle of that strange blue police box was a man. A man wearing a tweed jacket, suspenders and a red bow tie. A man with a different face.

Looking around, the Doctor did a quick check to see that he was, in fact, in a human body. The last thing he looked at was his hair. Pulling it down over his eyes, his mood suddenly changed as he saw flash of red. Wondering if it was just a reflection from one of TARDIS controls, the Doctor stumbled over to a view screen on the consol.

After his eyes had come into focus, the Doctor let out a cry, completely opposite of the ones he was making earlier.

"Ginger! I'm ginger! I'm finally ginger! Woohoo!"

The Doctor leapt off the ground into a fit of joy. This went on for several minutes before he finally calmed down.

Looking around the TARDIS control room, the Doctor found himself smiling. Amy was gone, he'd regenerated and was alone all over again. But he was ginger... at least one good thing had come out of this.
