Team 7, now all chunin, were walking down the main road toward Konoha. It was a quite walk since a Naruto was a bit (BIT!) more mature to not argue with Sasuke.
"Man I'm bored!"
"Just keep quiet Naruto! We're almost there!" Sakura said. Jeez. It was so peacefully quiet for once. Naruto blabs out some of the most random thing sometimes!
Sakura looked at Kakashi. Reading, as usual. Then she looked at Sasuke. He was looking at the squirrels in the tree. That was kind of unusual. Sasuke never really looked at anything so intently as he did now.
Sasuke-kun seems kinda strange sometimes...
Sasuke stared at the squirrels. How cute...wait, should I think it's cute? Well, it IS cute, so I GUESS it's okay. But...
Naruto noticed Sasuke staring as well. He moved over to Sakura.
"Isn't Sasuke acting a little strange today?" Naruto whispered to Sakura.
"Yeah. You noticed, huh? I have no clue why." she replied.
"Yeah, he is acting weird." Sasuke whispered to them.
"AAAHHH! S-SASUKE!" Naruto screamed.
"What are you guys doing? Come on!" Kakashi yelled from far ahead.
It continued to be quiet from that point on. Things were too weird for Sakura and Naruto to talk right now. Kakashi continued to do what he was doing, and Sasuke found some other animal to stare at. ( a bird )
Suddenly, they heard a jingle. Someone, or something, was nearby and coming. Quickly, they jumped into the nearest tree, except for Sasuke.
"Sasuke get your-" Kakashi started, but the thing was closer, close enought to see. It was a person, he was wearing a black cloak with red clouds and a hat which had the bell that caused the sound they had heard before. His face was hidden, but he then looked up. Sasuke stared back.
"Hello..." the mysterious man said.
But Sasuke wasn't looking at him. He was confused. His sensei and friends were in the trees. Did that make them birds? They weren't very cute if they were trying to be birds. Then he realized the man in front of him. It was Itachi...
"Oh!" Sasuke exclaimed as he realized it was Itachi in front of him.
Uh Oh. How is Sasuke going to react? It's Itachi! Maybe I should do something... Kakashi thought. But Sasuke was already doing something. He ran over to Itachi, and stopped right in front of him, and stared.
I think Sasuke-kun has a staring problem... Sakura thought.
Anyway, Itachi was waiting for Sasuke to attack him, or something like that, but he didn't. Itachi was getting irritated, but he didn't show it since it might have been part of Sasuke's plan.
"Hey..." Sasuke said at last.
"Yes?"
You.."
Yeessssss..."
You've gotten taller haven't you?"
"... Bye."
"Awww, he's leaving. oh well. Bye!! I'll miss you big brother!!"
"..."
Just walk away... Itachi thought to himself. Yeah... Happy thoughts...
