Melancholy Love

Disclaimer: I don't own Tenchi Muyo! or any of its characters! I wrote this story just for fun and made no profit. I hope you enjoy!!
Ryoko was sitting on top the cave that served as her tomb for 700 years staring at the full moon. Tears of heartache fluently seeped over her cheeks and hit the hard rocks.
She knew it would hurt, but she never thought it would hurt this much. The pain in her heart was like nothing she had ever experienced. Though it hurt so much, she had no choice, she had to do it. It was for the best of everyone….but her.
She had given Tenchi up to Ayeka. She loved Tenchi more than anything in the universe, that's why she did it. She wanted him to be happy, even if it cost her her own happiness. If Tenchi was with her he would never be truly happy. He wasn't use to life in the run. He wouldn't like it, she knew it. If he was with Ayeka, on the other hand, he would be a king.
"Tenchi!!!" Ryoko cried out. She sat there sobbing.
"Ryoko…" A familiar female voice gently said.
Ryoko turned around to find Washu standing about five feet behind her.
"Go away, Washu!! Just leave me alone!!" Ryoko yelled spinning back around.
Washu sat down beside her and they both sat in silence staring up at the sky.
"I, too, know what it's like to lose the man you love… the pain…" Washu said breaking the silence.
Ryoko shifted her gaze to Washu. Washu turned and smiled the most compassionate smile she ever had in return. Ryoko couldn't help it when she weakly smiled back.
"Ryoko, I am your mother and whether or not you believe it… I do care for you. I'm here for you… when you want me to be and even when you don't …" Washu told her.
"Washu…." Ryoko said in almost a whisper.
"Yes…" She replied.
Ryoko flung her arms around Washu and started crying on her shoulder.
"That's a girl… let it all out…" Washu said closing her eyes and holding her daughter.
And as the wind blew pass carrying the faint scent of cherry blossoms, they sat, mother and daughter,…. together.
