It was just sitting there. Looking at her.

Well it would have been if the offending contraption-a half assembed office chair-had eyes.

It acted so god damn innocent. If it had lips, a mouth, a voice box, lungs and other biological things humans have, it would have been whilstling a innocent tune.

But Mai wasn't fooled.

Oh no. This half assembled office chair was evil. 100 percent pure, undiluted evil.

She glanced up at the clock on the wall. 5:15 pm. An hour. She had spent an hour assemling the chair-or trying too. Most of it was simple enough, just slotting a few things here and there, unscrewing something then screwing it back in. But the arms of the chair. They held atleast 97 percent of the pure, undiluted evil-y-ness.

The other two office chairs-hers and Lin's-were the same brand, same style even the same colour as the final chair. Mai had managed to set them up-arm rests and all-with 10 minutes each.

Which led her to a simple conclusion.

The final office chair, Naru's office chair, was obviously, undoubtably possessed.

By the Devil himself no less.

When she had phoned Bou-san and explained that she wanted him to come over and exorsise the chair, he simply laughed at her then hung up. John had held back a chuckle and told her he couldn't make it as he was due at the orphanage. Lin had simply looked at her when she asked him, then walked away without saying anything.

If dolls can be possesed why can't office chairs?

Which was why Mai Taniyama was sitting on the floor of the office, a screw driver in once hand and 8 screws in the other looking at the two black plastic arm rests with contempt. The rest of the chair-in two parts, the seat and back rest then the base with the wheels already attached- sat close by.

But all her focus was on the arm rests.

It had become a staring contest. Only it was trivial because, as covered before, the arm rests had no eyes.

She had examed the offending pieces of plastic hard, looking for any sign of '666' and had no luck. She had raked threw old case files, trying to find any other cases with similarities and how they had been fixed but suprisingly-to Mai atleast-there had been no past cases about possesed pieces of furniture.

At 6:03 pm, Naru left his office, planning on locking up and going home. He paused spotting his young assistant sitting glaring at two black pieces of plastic.

"What are you doing?"

Really, there was no other logical question to ask.

"This chair is possessed by the Devil."

This was said as if there was no other logical answer.

Naru sighed. He took the screws and screw driver from Mai and within 5 minutes, both arm rests were in there rightful possitions.

Mai look at him in wonder and unhidden awe. But then again she shouldn't have been suprised.

Even the Devil bows down to the great Kazuya Shibuya.

Based on true events. I once had to build an office chair and it was-and still is-possessed by the Devil. I get chills when I walk past it.

Review please! Pretty please! And if any one has any other ideas for possessed office equipment, feel free to tell me and I can try and make more.
