Introduction
He looks over at him, his face a pure red.
"...You ever kiss a boy before...?"
Chapter 1:: Fire Starter
Kai arose from his slumber from the bright sun peeking through his dusty blinds. He yawns. His other teammates: Cole, Jay, Zane, and Lloyd were all still asleep from the long 10 hour training session from Sensei Garmadon.
Lately, Sensei Garmadon, not only cut away their "slack off " time but also, without warning, assigned these long daily training sessions to prevent the ninja from falling behind. With Sensei Wu gone for spiritual guidance, Garmadon felt the ninja was not receiving enough discipline. From the 1,000 pushups before and after breakfast, to the hike up Mountain of A Million Steps, the training has taken a toll on the ninja's personal time.
Kai lazily rolls of his bed and walks to the bathroom. Ever since Sensei Wu's absence, Kai has always waken up before the other ninja. With the time he has to spare before training, he takes a 30 minute shower just to be lost in his everyday thoughts. As the steam fills the small empty washroom, "what ifs" and past experiences fill his mind. Ever since he became a ninja, he gained confidence and self-esteem, something never truly gained following in his father's footsteps as a blacksmith.
Kai turns off the water to the shower and reaches for his red towel. He frantically looks all over for it but, appears to be missing. He let's out a long sigh, and walks out of the shower dripping wet and cold. Covering his body, he tip toes to the main bedroom in search of his other spare towel.
"Oh my god, please don't be awake, " Kai says, as he walks to the bedroom. He notices no one's in bed and assumes they are already downstairs for breakfast. He then hears loud bursts of laughter.
A distant voice then says, "Looking for this?" Kai quickly covers his body and turns around to see Jay twirling around his red towel with the other 3 ninja joining in on the laughter.
"Oh wow Kai, didn't think your skin would be so pale!," said Zane while Kai snatched the towel of Jay's hand, he then wraps the towel around his waist.
"Kai, don't act like we all don't know you have that emo time in the shower early in the morning."
Kai rushes in his closet for clothes. "Shut it Lloyd, shouldn't you guys be doing your 1,000 pushups?" Suddenly, Sensei Garmadon barges into the bedroom.
"Keep up with these shenanigans and I might add 1,000 more. Now carry on..." Lloyd, Zane, Cole, and Jay walked out of the bedroom leaving Garmadon and Kai.
Sensei Garmadon chuckles slightly, "So, I heard about your "emo time" in the shower huh?"
"Oh you heard that. I don't know anything about that, I just take long showers nowadays." Kai looks down, slightly embarrassed.
"And why is that? You excited for your morning pushups?" Kai shakes his head frantically, "No, no, no! Its just that..." His voice trails off.
"Have a lot on your mind recently? Kai runs his hands through his hair and smirks. "Is it that obvious?"
"Maybe, just a simple question, no pressure on you." Sensei Garmadon easily notices Kai's frustration.
Kai lets out a long sigh, "...Just a little, I mean-"
"Is it because Wu left...? And now things are different?" Garmadon walks up to Kai and places his hand on his shoulder.
"I put my heart and my soul into my work, and lost my mind in the process..." Garmadon walks to the door, his hands held behind him.
Kai raises his right eyebrow in confusion. "Is that supposed to be some sort of teaching lesson?" Sensei Garmadon laughs hysterically, "I just gave you food for the mind. Speaking of food, you should get dressed for breakfast."
Kai blushes from embarrassment, and bows to his Sensei. "Yes, Sensei Garmadon."
