Beyond had been super bored in his cell. Laying down on the floor, just being somewhat depressed while reminiscing about his life and his past mistakes.
Being locked up was weak but he still had to serve his sentence. He knew that his current situation was a waste of his 'talents' and that L had made sure it would stay that way.
However, his patience was wearing thin. He had places to be and people to find.
His thoughts were cut short when all of a sudden, a guard named Joan Stark banged on his cell door and spoke up. "Get off the floor psycho, you have a visitor."
"I what?"
The Words have him thinking.
'Joan, you draft man. You cannot really think that I have a visitor can you?'
Beyond considers the possibility as he opened his eyes slowly and sat up. He was surprised that he had not heard the man approaching until he hit the bars.
That was unnerving.
The medication he received on a weekly basis did nothing for him, once he had healed enough to walk around so he flushed it down the toilet every chance he got. He ruled out drugs fucking up his mind first.
What could it be? Last time he checked, he didn't have hearing problems.
Maybe he was spending too much time alone with his thoughts, that could be fixed.
Speaking of which... he had almost forgotten the security guard and the guy was just watching him, great.
"Sir. You must be mistaken. I am not liked by anyone and you see, I've done things." He laughed loudly as the guy on the other side of the bars gave him a weird look. While his thoughts are 'I don't like that laugh, it'll have to stop.'
His crimson eyes locked with Joan's hazel ones as he spoke his next words. "But" He paused for dramatic effect. "I'm sure that you've heard. Seems rather apropos, if you ask me."
"I didn't."
Shit, this lunatic is frightening! Why, did the higher-ups tell me to get him?
Joan was trying to look calm, he failed miserably but Beyond chose to ignore it. He can practically hear what he's thinking.
Beyond stood up to his full height and he took a step forward then stopped. "If, I really do have a visitor... Why would they send just, you? No offense Joan but you are aware of what I'm capable of right?"
'I'll mind fuck this idiot for a while. He probably has me confused with Jay Rucas, the Hot Dog strangler. What a silly man and name he chose for himself.'
Joan's body went rigid when Beyond took a step closer but he moved no more. The guy was starting to sweat a little but Beyond didn't comment on it or the his voice cracks when he is nervous.
"Who told you my name, was it Kay?!"
Oh right, these dead men have aliases. No matter I will just be honest, after all it is the best policy.
Beyond smirked but it quickly faded. Once he broke eye contact as he moved to sit on his shitty bed, if it could be called that.
"Negative Mr. Stark, Kyle Roman did not tell me your name…"
Far off to the right, both men heard a voice. "Mac bring the prisoner. He's waiting. Fuck, come on!"
Joan opened the cell, stepped in it then shut the door and told Beyond to put his hands in front of him, so that he could get on with whatever he had to do next.
When he made sure that the raven haired 'serial' killer was securely restrained, he unlocked the door.
The jailer started walking but Beyond halted him, by coughing lightly and saying. "I think that the handcuffs are a little tight, could you loosen them up a bit?"
"Deal with it, now move."
Beyond knew what he was thinking, so he sighed and said. "Sure. Why the fuck not. Oh on another note, Joan I suggest you try the new pie from the cafeteria in ten minutes. Trust me, it's to die for."
Both Beyond and Joan had started walking again but the jailer slowed down turning to look at him the asked in a mildly curious tone.
"Why, did you put so much emphasis into the word die? psycho bastard."
Once he said the words he keeps walking because he does not want to waste time.
"Oh. No reason at all, it's just that I'm almost bored to tears in here. I need some form entertainment in my life, is all. Worry not for me though. I feel it, it's in the air."
.
"What am I doing here?" I should just leave before the guards return with him in tow. The young detective's thoughts were interrupted when he heard a knocking sound at the door.
"Sir, I am sending in the prisoner now." L's thoughts linger on the fact that they just sent one guard to get him. Thinking that these people are naïve, but maybe not as much. This is a top security prison.
No one has escaped so far. L tries to stay positive while working to calm his nerves.
"Mr. Stark. Send me back, I'm sureyou're confused." Beyond stood by the closed door and stifled a yawn when Joan didn't oblige.
That's his voice, I hadn't heard it in so long that I almost forgot what he sounded like. Calm down Lawliet, just breathe and be oblivious. L had tried sitting up a little straighter but he quickly felt it unbecoming and his back ached at the force.
.
.
Beyond's eyes widened slightly but he quickly composed himself and said. "Just what the fuck, are you doing here L?"
L didn't move from his seat as he greeted the criminal and dismissed the jailer. "Hello, Backup. Leave us Mac."
The blonde jailer was super relived that he did not have to be around those to for much longer. He honestly wasn't sure who gave him more of a fright.
The crazed killer or the dumb-ass that wanted to stay alone in a room with him but to make the matters worse, without protection. A reinforced glass cage or a muzzle with chains.
"Uh yes, are you sure...sir?"
Beyond spoke for him, his voice now sounded identical to the detective's when he answered. "Yes. Bye, Joan."
L's eyes narrowed as he said. "B. don't get in this." He should mind his business.
Then he looked at the blonde and said. "Joan, make sure Dave has the paperwork ready by the time we're finished."
"Of course, I'll be out here if you need anything." He closed the door and walked away quickly. Not wanting to spend a moment longer here.
"Beyond, why did they even bother to cuff you up? You have made them aware of your skills by now, right." L seemed mildly interested as he got his phone out.
"Shut up, Lawliet. You still have not answered my question." L had been texting Watari to piss Beyond off, crouching on his chair.
BB thinking it just daring of him to remain so calm so Beyond took the phone from his grasp and stomped on it repeatedly until only little pieces remained.
L's voice remained monotone even though he is shocked as scolded him he said his next words.
"Beyond calm down, I came because of Kira."
