Ichigo will always hate the rain. The sound of it hitting the roof at night keeps him awake all night long and will send him to school in a foul moon, barely able to keep his head off the deskāif it's not raining anymore. If it's still raining, Ichigo will likely be the most awake of anyone in that class, including the teacher.
He can't sleep peacefully with the sound of the rain overhead.
And he will always feel heavier, more tired, weaker, with the feel of rain sliding down his flesh.
Because Ichigo thinks he can hear his mother's voice in the rain.
And sometimes, he mistakes the raindrops on his head for her tears, being shed from far above.
And even though he tells himself that these aren't Masaki's tears, when water beads slide across his mouth Ichigo swallows them just to make sure that the water breaking over his head is sweet, and not bitter.
Because as much as he knows this can't be true, he still thinks that maybe his mother is still crying over him at night.
