Fair Lavender Maidens

.

Oh, oh, young lavender maidens

With purple blossoms in your hair

Oh, oh, young lavender maidens

Ye dance without nary a care

.

A lad came up from Anvil's salt

To find his sweet lavender maid

And within her heart he was caught

In love with his lavender maid

.

Bruma's too cold for such soft stuff

The flowers of lavender maids

In Nibenay they bloom and fluff

The flowers of lavender maids

.

From Skingrad's hills, a man, he came

To snare his own lavender maid

Snared him, she did, twas ne'er the same

'Tween him and his lavender maid

.

Oh, oh, young lavender maidens

With purple blossoms in your hair

Oh, oh, young lavender maidens

Ye dance without nary a care

.

A gent rode here from the great Isle

To seek out a lavender maid

Twas the next week they walked the aisle

To join with his lavender maid

.

Girls of this town, they're fair and kind

Known as our lavender maidens

More lovely girls you'll never find

Cheydinhal's lavender maidens

.

Out of the south a man struck out

To see his sweet lavender maid

Finding her, he did sing and shout

"I love ye, my lavender maid!"

.

Oh, oh, young lavender maidens

With purple blossoms in your hair

Oh, oh, young lavender maidens

Ye dance without nary a care

.

This is a song I wrote to be sung in the taverns and inns of the Nibenay region of Cyrodiil. There's a ton of lavender growing up around Cheydinhal in Oblivion and I imagine there still is around the time of Skyrim or the Great War, which is when Ieant for this song to be sung.

A part of it appears in my story Tamriel Tidbits so feel free to go over and have a look!

I wrote the lyrics and I even have a melody, but of course the locations and names all belong to Bethesda.
