Glimmer of a Chance

Hey guys! I was really inspired to write after watching Blind Faith...I have three short stories that I felt compelled to write about this chapter and Glimmer of a Chance is the first one, it's a basically what Ephram should have done after Amy said "Promise me, that you and me will never come between a you and someone else." So enjoy and please r&r!

Holding Amy as close as he was made Ephram realize that no matter what he felt for Madison it would never compare to how he had always felt about Amy. No matter how he tried Ephram just couldn't picture his life without Amy, as hard as he had tried.

Amy continuing her whispered words draws Ephram back out of this thoughts, "promise me that you and me won't get between a you and someone else." Amy whispers.

Ephram pulls away from Amy and grabbing her gently by the arm he leads her through the crowd and out into the open air where there was no one else around.

"You just don't get it, do you?" Ephram questions more harshly than he had actually intended.

"Ephram..." Amy begins before Ephram cuts her off.

"No, you don't get it!" Ephram lays his hands on Amy's shoulders, "I love you Amy. I always have, through everything. But more importantly I am always going to love you and nothing is changing that. But I can't just sit around and wait for you to realize just how much I love you. If you can't ever see that I am standing right here, right now in front of you then I can't promise how much longer I will be able to stand here." With his words Ephram turns sharply and walks quickly away from the wedding reception, leaving Amy standing there alone, watching his retreating figure.

Ephram isn't sure how long he exactly sat in the park for, trying to gather his thoughts about everything that had happened the last couple of days. But he is ready to go home when Amy slips onto the bench next to him silently.

"Ephram," Amy's silence doesn't last long. "I can't give you what you need. I'm such a mess right now..." Two tears gently slide down Amy's cheeks, "I can't give you anything, I have nothing left to give."

Ephram gently brushes the tears off of Anne's cheeks, "I'm not asking for anything from you, Amy. I love you Amy and all I am asking is for you to tell me that we have a chance. Because if we don't then let me move on Amy, because I don't want to spend my entire life waiting for you if you have no interest whatsoever in being with me, like I want to be with you."

Amy takes a deep shaking breath, "Ephram I do want to be with you, it's just, "I'm-I'm not ready for that right now. It's all to much...I can't handle it all..."

"I understand that Amy, believe me I do. And I'm not pressuring you, I just needed to know that there was something for me to wait for."

Amy throws her arms around and buries her face in Ephram neck. Ephram tightly wraps his arms around Amy, newly reaffirmed to waiting for Amy, until she was ready, and until she had gotten over Colin's death. And he believed he could wait for her knowing that they actually had a glimmer of a chance to be together.
