White sheets covered every piece of furniture in the room, a light dust settling on the untouched table and un used potters wheel. The mid morning sun shone on the many boxes and boom cases that littered the space. The young women smiled as she walked around the edge of the room. She ran her long emerald figures along the window ledges. Pushing a couple of the windows open along the way; she leaned on one of the sills smiling at the scene bellow. The apartment they had bought looked onto a small street in New York. Parents could be seen walking there children to school while others where walking there dogs while some where couples that looked very much in love. The cool breeze blew the girls dark hair around her face and into her eyes, she pulled it up securing it behind her head with a hair band.
New York city 1995. Sam and Elphaba had moved into there new apartment on the upper east side. After a year of dating they had finally decided to move in together. Another Six months on they had at last found a place to call there own.
Elphaba carried on walking until she got to the doorway where she stopped and turned, smiling at the fact that the apartment was now there's.
Her smile only grew wider when a pair of strong arms snaked around her waist. She turned to see her boyfriend's dazzling smile his white teeth and strong check bones made her want to melt. Elphaba pulled his as close as she possibly could breathing in his sweet sent, " I cant believe this place is finally ours its so beautiful"
He chuckled lightly as he held her tighter
"like you"
Elphaba pulled away from him then.
She walked further into there home, finding an old chair and pulling the dust sheet off before curling herself into it.
Sam's smile slowly disappeared as followed behind her closing the door behind him
He walked further into the large room that made up there living area, he slowly made his way over to the chair that she had sat herself in. kneeling in front of her he softly began to speak.
"Elphaba why don't you believe me when I tell you your beautiful?"
Sam avoided giving Elphaba complements about the way she looked as this was always the result of it. He would always hear the same response.
"this skin is not beautiful it never has been and it never will be "
Even after a year Sam still had to convince her of her beauty.
He grazed the side of her face with the back of his hand before running his hand down her arm and linking there fingers together squeezing them lightly.
His gesture of love elected a small smile from the green girl. Without another word she pulled on his arm getting him to stand, she rearranged herself so he could sit beside her. Sam had nothing else to say as he made himself comfortable. He decided not to push her when it came to her insecurities he had done so in the past nearly loosing her as a result.
He wrapped his arms around her closing his eyes , she did the same not pulling him any closer but at the same time not pushing him away.
That's how they slept that night the breeze blowing though the open window.
