"Do you guys ever feel like there's something missing?"
This question came up a lot since summer had ended, Olette noticed. It seemed strange, since it had always just been her, Hayner and Pence. The three friends had known each other since they had been in the womb and their mothers had waddled around pathetically to each other's houses to complain about how horrible they were feeling, but lately Olette couldn't help but feeling like they needed someone else.
Sometimes when Olette was lounging on her couch in the Usual Spot, she expected to see someone sitting on the crates at her feet. Who, she didn't know. Nobody else ever hung out at the Usual Spot, since it had officially been squatted by Hayner when they were five.
And now she found herself asking the time old question "Do you guys ever feel like there's something missing?", when she really meant "Do you guys ever feel like there is someone missing?"
They would always gave her a confused look and said no, but Olette knew that someday, she would find out who was missing. And when she did, she hoped she would understand why she missed them so much.
Author's note: Bleh. I thought of this last night while I was laying down to get in bed, and I wrote it today in about ten minutes. I just really liked the thought of Olette wondering why she feels like she knew Sora. And now it makes me want to write more stories like this. :
