This is a one shot set after the war. Enjoy.

Arthur was propped up in bed reading a giant thick book bound with leather covered with images of childhood stories he had read to each one of his beautiful children over the years. Arthur smiled sadly at the last page of the story. The tale of the three brothers had always been one of his favorites right from when he was a boy, but ever since the war he could not bare to read it. It bought back too many memories. All of them bad; Fred dying, his family crying, friends dying. Nothing could bring them back. Arthur sighed and closed the book. It creaked and groaned, old like him.
Molly walked into the room with two cups of hot chocolate and handed one to Arthur.
"Thanks," he said quietly.
"What were you reading?"She said as she pulled back the covers and climbed into bed.
"oh nothing really, just some of the old stories we use to read to the kids," Arthur didn't want to tell Molly which story he was actually readn because he didn't want to upset his wife anymore thean she already was. They sat silently for a while quietly sipping their drink. " The kids all in their beds?" asked Arthur.
" Well, a bed, Hermione and Harry have just swapped rooms."
"What? and we are going to just let them?"
"Yes, for now anyway, they diserve a little happiness, but you will need to have a word with Harry and Ron because I do not want any grandkids form them just yet."
"Of course dear," Merlin thoughts Arthur this was one of the most awkward parts, he thought it would get less awkward for him as he had already done it five times already, but unfortunantly, it didn't.
Athur heard sniffling next to him and looked only to find Molly criyng gently. He took her into his arms and took her cup and placed it next to his on the side. He then laid the two of them down. Molly rested her head on Arthurs chest and he wrapped his arms tighter around her, trying to take away the pain. After all theses years he still loved her as much as the day he married her. If not more. "My baby, my little Freddie, he will never have children, he will never give us grandchildren, he's never going to get married."
"I know, I know"
Arthur rubbed her back trying to soothe her but really there was nohing he could say which would make it any better, so he sat there for hours just holding her until her sobs stopped as he wept silently for his lost son. Then after a while she became quiet. Arthur thought that she had fallen asleep. "You were reading about the deathly hallows. Weren't you?" "Yes," he whispered.
" I love you Arthur."
"I love you too Mollywobbles"
They both fell into an exhausted, dreamless sleep in each others arms.
