Just a short drabble, set in Dipper's Guide of the Unusual

Dipper froze, eyes scanning the piece of paper in his hands more then three times. "No," he muttered. "This can't be right..."

The black ink on the paper was slightly smudged, but Dipper could make out the words clearly. Written in messy handwriting were the words: Stanford Pines.

"Soos, turn off the camera." His voice was emotionless as his eyes never left the paper, his mind not quite understanding what was happening at the moment.

Soos frowned but did as asked, right as Mabel walked towards them.

"Hey, Soos!" The preppy girl greeted before stopping in front of her brother.

"What'cha got there, bro-bro?"

Dipper didn't even look at her.

Mabel frowned and shoved him lightly. "Dipper? Hellooo?"

Her twin blinked a couple of times before looking up at his sister, surprise on his face; as if he just realized she was standing there. "Mabel! You won't believe what just-"

He got cut off by a familiar voice. "Kids!"

Dipper quickly scrunched up the piece of paper and shoved it into the pocket of his vest before standing next to Mabel and acting as if nothing was wrong. Suddenly feeling very suspicious of his great uncle.

Soos and Mabel glanced at each other with confusion but said nothing, deciding to play along with the boy's strange behavior.

"Ah, Soos, there you are! I need you to wear that weird question mark costume again!" Stan said, taking a sip of the can of soda he was holding.

Soos nodded, looking...happy? "Of course, Mr. Pines!"

He rushed off without a word.

Mabel raised an eyebrow and nudged her brother with her elbow. "Didn't he hate that costume?"

Dipper wasn't looking at her, he was looking at nothing, really. A blank look crossed his face; his mind and body completely separated as he was deep in thought.

Stan glanced at Mabel with a confused look, the girl just shrugged.

"You okay, Dipper?" The old man called, even more surprised when Dipper jumped up and stepped back from him.

"Yeah! Yeah, I'm fine! I...need to go feed the goat!" He was gone before the two other Pines could understand what was happening.

"Feed the goat...?" Mabel muttered, blinking in surprise.

Stan shrugged and took a sip of his drink. "The kid gets weirder by the minute." He walked back to the shack, leaving Mabel there.

The girl shrugged and decided to mail the video of her shoving gummy worms in her mouth to her parents before going after her brother. He had probably read something in the journal; it could wait.
