A/N ;; Because I have nothing else to do, here's another one-shot - another fluffy one-shot to be specific (even moreso than the last!).

Also, I've never thought of Susano is "calm" before (I mean, how could you? Just look how his character is!), but then I thought of his relationship with Kushi and thought that it might be possible. And so, this is where this one-shot came in.

This Love
an Okami one-shot

"Love while you are young and all of is grand."

There is elegance in the curve of her jaw, beauty in the breeze of her laughter, purity in the curve of her eyes when she smiles. It is the little things that make Kushi beautiful, rather than her flowing hair or the glow that appears in her eyes when she speaks about Kuni; the little details Susano likes to think no one but himself notices.

The smell of peaches and sake enter his nose as she moves a bit closer to him, slips her hand into his, comforting and as warm as summer sunshine. "Susano," she says with a little smile, and there is grace in the way she tilts her neck so she can gaze up at him.

He smiles. "You are lovely," he says. Her forehead wrinkles, like ripples on a puddle, as she raises her eyebrows at him, affection curving her smile further. The dying sunlight brings more warmth to her skin, a rosy tint to her pale cheeks. Her hair glitters in the light and her eyes are as beautiful as pure as the sky.

"Oh you," she says fondly, resting her head against his shoulder and winding their fingers together. They walk slowly along the outskirts of Kamiki Village, watching as the village bustled below. It is early spring and cool.

They have no plans, they have no destination. They walk, footfalls matching the others, hands interwoven. There is the gentle chatter of village children as they grow closer to the hill that overlooks the village, but the words mean nothing when they are as wrapped up in each other as they are.

They lazily turn right and meander down another side path. Susano smiles (gently, because she is the only one who can keep him grounded, calm), trailing his fingers through her silky hair. She speaks to him softly and her voice is as pure as a trickling creek in the cool air.

"I love you," she says, and there is laughter tugging at the edge of her lips, gentleness and affection and love all present in her eyes as she looks up at him.

"And I you," Susano tells her (and Kushi laughs, because she never thought she would hear something like that coming from Susano's lips), dropping her hand and wrapping his arm around her waist, pulling her closer. They slow as they climb the hill.

There is an old woman in the distance, her hands clutching a bouquet of flowers. Something in her face relaxes, wrinkles smoothing out into a broad smile as she sees Susano lean forward to kiss the top of Kushi's head.

Kushi notices the old woman out of the corner of her eye and she wonders if the woman is possibly thinking back to her own romances, but then Susano pulls her even closer and she forgets.

What they have might not last forever, but she'll hold onto it while it does.

A/N ;; Er... I need to get all the fluff out of my mind. I feel like my mind is made up of rainbows and cotton candy and unicorns right now – which isn't good, because I need to get into the correct mindset to write for my stories.

Anyway! Make a girl's morning and review, maybe?
