He waits in the cave for her. That is where they would always meet. He never expected to fall for the infamous Tatia Petrova. Her dark brown eyes seemed clearly haunted by some memory. And her having a child and not being wedded was quite scandelous. But that didn't downgrade the respect that the people in the village held for her and her family.

Something about her was enchanting to all of the men. Klaus even knew Mikael had a fancy for the lovely brunette. He knew she had eyes for him. Of course.

Every night she would sneak away from her people. She had originated from the next-door village of werewolves. Once living in the village here and now permanently living in the other one. All of this was confusing to Niklaus at first.

He snapped out of his daze when he heard the gentle breath coming from her. He clearly saw her standing there. "Nico," she breathed out, running into his arms instantly as her greeting. He hugged her tightly and kissed her forehead softly. "Oh Nico. We should run away like you had said," she said, clearly distressed. "What is wrong?" he asked, pulling away and looking over her. He didn't know why , but he felt the need to worry about her. Though she was a clear warrior that could look after herself.

"I have this feeling something bad shall happen to you and I Nico," she informed him grimly. He stared at her oddly and just stayed silent. He looked into her dark eyes and noticed there was a secret within them. "I can't Tatia. You know I have duties in this village," he was internally torn between his job and his love. "You really want to stay here and be hated and unloved by your parents. Please Nico, we need to leave. If you wish to live and be with me," she begged.

"I love you Tatia. But we have no where else to go," he said pessimistically. "There is plenty of undiscovered land beyond here Niklaus! I want to leave this town with you. Then we could start our own life together. With little Aaliyah and everything," she even had to add in her little daughter. Since she knew Klaus loved the baby like it was his own.

"I'm sorry Tatia. But I must think of it. Please give me a day," he pleaded. She gulped and nodded. "As you wish Nico. Just remember I will always love you," she gulped meekly to hold back the tears threatening to fall.

That night when Klaus returned. His father gave him and his siblings all wine. That was the night Klaus became a vampire and the last night he ever saw Tatia. Tatia had known this was coming and wanted to save Niklaus. But her begging and offering didn't work. And she lost him.
