The hallways of McKinley High were crowded but Jake Puckerman could see Marley Rose walking towards her locker. He walked toward her, timid and shy, which was not like him. Marley turned as he approached, "Hi Jake." She smiled. 'Yes!' Jake thought, he didn't have to make the first hello. "Um, hey," Jake looked around him; his eyes were caught by a scowling face, scowling at him, Kitty Wilde. He shook his head and looked back at Marley, but before he could ask her what he wanted to ask her, Marley asked, "Hey what are you doing tonight?" Jake smiled, just like the first time she asked him this he replied, "Going out with you." Marley also grinned, her smile was beautiful, but Jake didn't say so at this moment, he just thought it, just like he did every other time she smiled. "I'll pick you up at six, then." He finished.
"Sure." Marley replied, she then turned with her head down, smiling and walked away. As she walked, Kitty moved in front of her. "What do you think you just did?" But she didn't wait for an answer. Kitty marched over to Jake and yelled, "Why are you going out with the weight gaining pale girl?"
Jake grinned, "because she's wonderful." He replied, and walked of after Marley to glee club practise. In the choir room Finn was explaining that their next glee meeting would be Valentine 's Day and that everybody must prepare a romantic duet with someone. As soon as they left, Ryder Lynn approached Marley. "So, you want to do the assignment together?"
"Ah, I don't know." She replied, Marley didn't want to say no but she did not have a crush on Ryder, but she did on Jake, and she wanted to see if Jake wanted to perform with her.
"I get it," Ryder said looking at Jake and Kitty, "but you'll want to hurry."
Kitty was talking to Jake, "So, will my sweet three-nippled ex-boyfriend do the assignment with me?" she said in her sweetest voice, smiling at Marley who was watching them.
"No, Kitty." Jake said firmly.
Kitty took in a deep breath and said "Well then, you just go perform with the little pipette then, but she won't be pipette forever."
"STOP IT KITTY!" Jake yelled at her. "Marley is not fat, nor is she gaining weight, so just stop it."
"Whatever tough guy. Looks like she might already have a partner anyway, puppy boy." Kitty said and walked off.
Jake ran over to Marley, "Hey Marley, wanna do the assignment together."
"Yes!" Marley squealed and gave him a hug. She looked at Ryder and sook her head. Kitty also saw this and stamped down the hall knocking anything in her way until she got to Sue Sylvester's office. "Coach, she's doing it again!" She screamed at Sue.
