"Yuki?"

Tap. Tap. Tap tap.

"...Nanda yo, gaki?"

Shuichi smiled at the harsh words coupled with the softer tone, and stated his request.
"Don't ever leave me, 'kay?"

Finally drawing his focus away from the screen, Eiri peered over his glasses at the younger boy. Strangely, Shuichi had a relaxed expression on his face, leaning back in a folding chair and staring at the ceiling. However, due to the fact that the question had been serious, Eiri was inclined to believe that Shuichi was only pretending to be nonchalant. Was there a deeper meaning behind this? Had something happened? ...Why did he care, again??

"...What brought that on?" Eiri asked, with a tone that said I-don't-care-but-I'm-asking-anyway.

"Nothing." Shuichi said quickly; a bit too quickly. His eyes took in Eiri's 'yeah, right' expression, and he sighed.

"Well... okay. Don't laugh."

"I can't promise that."

Shuichi glowered, in response to Eiri's smirk. "Make an effort then." He snapped, then continued. "It's just... well, lately, I've been so busy with the band, and y'know, the new CD... I haven't been able to spend as much time with you as I want to... I'm sorry."

Eiri snorted. He wasn't about to admit that he had, indeed, noticed a gap in the shower of affection he usually received; so instead he pointed out the other side of the arguement.

"You kidding? I've been able to get a lot of writing done lately. I should thank you."

Shuichi frowned, obviously put out by Eiri's lack of caring.

"But Yuki--"

"I'm not going to leave you."

"But-- eh??" Taken by surprise, Shuichi glanced up at the author, trying to catch his eye; to no avail.

"I said, I'm not going to leave you. Happy? Now piss off, I'm almost done with this chapter, and you're distracting me."

Eiri blinked when he felt Shuichi's hands on his shoulders, turning him and the chair around. Shuichi's hands moved to his face, forcing Eiri to look at him.

"...Yuki...? Really? Promise?" He whispered, holding Eiri's gaze.

"Yes, yes, I promise. Will you stop bothering me now?"

Shuichi smiled, leaning forward and placing a gentle kiss to his lover's lips.

"...Yeah. Good luck with your book."

"Yeah, yeah... goodbye." Eiri muttered, turning around to lock stares with the laptop again.

Shuichi had his hand on the doorknob when he hesitated, and turned back. "...Yuki?"

Eiri looked up. "What?!"

"...I'll hold you to that." Then he grinned, blew the blonde a kiss, and skipped out of the room, slamming the door shut behind him. Eiri winced.

"...Baka gaki..." He muttered, shaking his head. And yet, somehow, he couldn't force down the slight smile that formed on his face as he immersed himself in typing once again...
