Summary: Lorelai and Luke are married and have a 5 - year old daughter named Holly. She is starting her first day of kindergarten. This is my first fic so be nice and please review.

The First Day
Chapter One
Holly woke up from a horrible nightmare. She ran into her parent's room and jumped on their bed and squeezed in between them.
This woke Lorelai and as she opened her eyes she saw a crying Holly in her bed. She just hugged her asked," Holly did you have another bad dream?"
"Yes. It was horrible." Holly answered.
"What's going on?" Luke asked as he woke up.
"Holly had a bad dream." Lorelai answered him.
"Another one?" Luke asked as he stroked Holly's hair. Holly had been having nightmares for a week now. They were mostly about her first day of school, and how horrible it would be.
"What was this one about?" Luke asked
"…. I dreamt that on my first day of kindergarten, I was teased and made fun of by everyone. I cried the whole day." Holly answered
"Oh sweetie, everything is going to be fine. I promise on Monday you will have so much fun at school and meet lots of new friends." Lorelai assured Holly.
Holly looked up at her parents and asked," You promise?"
"I promise."
And with that Holly was off to her room to go back to sleep. It was Saturday and Holly would start school on Monday. Lorelai and Luke were so worried about Holly's first day of school. I hope what I said was true. I would hate for Holly to have a horrible day at school and then come home to tell me that I lied. I could see the look of hurt on her face.
Lorelai looked at Luke and kissed him.
"Good morning."
He wrapped his arms around her as he kissed her and said," Good morning."
She smiled at him, but the smile soon faded as the thoughts of disappointing her daughter came back to her.
Luke noticed this and asked," What's wrong Lorelai?"
"What if Holly's first day of school doesn't go as well as we planned? What if she comes home to tell us that her nightmares had come to lufe? To tell me that I lied to her?" Lorelai asked.
" Hey", he said as he wrapped her in a hug." Enough with the 'what ifs'. Holly will be fine. She can make friends very easily. Which, by the way, she got from you." He smiled at her.
She smiled back. " Ok. I trust you. Her day will be fine…. But are you really sure?"
He smiled and kissed her as he said," I promise."
