Birds chirped. A breeze gently passed through the trees. Then the crackle of plasma hitting the side of an office building broke the silence. A black and purple blur raced past the explosion with a blue and red one following it.
"Bass is running. That's not like Bass. Are there any other reports of activity going on the city, Dr. Light?" asked the blue blur, which turned out to be a humanoid shaped robot. The robot was looking at a video screen on his dark blue forearm. A man that appeared to be in his early 60's answered back.
"I haven't gotten any reports of any criminal activity or destructive robot activity from the police since you left Mega Man. Bass has always had a desire to best you in combat. Perhaps he's leading you somewhere," answered the man.
"I'll keep following him Dr. Light, but something still doesn't make sense." Mega Man answered.
The black and purple robot, Bass, turned to face Mega Man and prepared to fire his weapon, when a look of annoyed distraction came over his face. Bass then turned back to Mega Man and said, "We'll finish this some other time!" Then Bass and his robotic dog landed on the ground and warped away beyond Mega Man's sight.
Mega Man landed on the ground, turned to his red canine companion, patted him on the head, and commented "Well, Rush, he got away. We'll get him next time, boy. Let's go home."
When Mega Man got home, his sister, Roll, was waiting for him at the door, and Dr. Light greeted him as he walked in.
Their happiness would not last forever…
