Disclaimer: OK, so Naruto's not mine, and I totally borrowed a great deal of this from the poem Twas the Night Before Christmas. I really get, like, no credit, but it was half formed and I'm stubborn enough to make things whole…sooner or later…this one being later…nn.
Twas
the Eve of Saint Valentine's, and all through Konoha The children were nestled all snug in their
beds, When quite without warning, out on the roof, The moon on the breast of the new-fallen snow Through the bedroom he crept, barely moving the air, "Now Pakkun! Now, Akamaru! Now,
Denka and Hina! As quiet as mice the animals
did fly, And then, in a twinkling, with another small
'poof' All around the walls there hung streamers
galore, Eye twinkling merrily, eight pairs to
match, Chocolate soon
found its way to the kitchen, He was lean and swift, a
right jolly nin, He spoke not a word, but went straight
to his work, Sitting up in her bed, young
Sakura heard the whistle,
Not a
creature was stirring, not even Ma or Pa.
The chocolates were
resting on the counter with care,
In hopes that tomorrow soon
would be here.
While visions of sugar-hearts danced in their heads.
And
Sakura all snug as a bug in her bed,
To put it simply, felt none
of the dread.
A
man appeared with a noiseless 'poof'.
He slipped through the
window as quick as a flash,
Thankful the girl had neither shutters
nor sash.
Gave
the lustre of mid-day to objects below.
When, what to wondering
eyes would appear,
But Kakashi the Copy-nin, decked out in full
gear.
His
target the next room, all dark things beware!
More rapid than
eagles near to his goal he came,
And he whistled for his troops,
and called them by name!
On, Gamakichi! On, Gamatatsu! On Tonton and
Tomodachi (1)!
Into the house! Into the room!
Fetch the dust
pan, scrub brush and broom!"
Cleaning quickly down low and swiftly up high.
Round
and round the rooms they flew,
With the box full of goodies, and
Kakashi-san, too.
There appeared on every surface solid proof,
That
soon, when the moon had drawn high in the sky,
The day for lovers
would have arrived.
One could hardly walk from the fluff on the floor,
A
bundle of toys lay on the table near,
Really, one would think he'd
been planning all year!
The game continued, they covered every patch
Of the
couch with red fabric, a lovely detail,
Though they all new
getting caught meant a night worse than jail.
Set next to a pair of bright pink,
brand-new mittens!
A large red heart, sighed by them all,
topped
with a bear, so cuddly and small.
Yet those who laugh at him might get done in!
But
a wink of his eye and a twist of his head,
Will let you know you
have nothing to dread.
And covered every surface, then turned with a
jerk.
Laying a finger aside his mouth he blew,
And giving a
nod, out the window they flew!
As away they all flew like the down of a
thistle.
And she heard him murmur, 'ere he ran out of
sight,
"Merry Valentine's Eve to all, and to all a
good-night!"
A/N: Not my best, and yes it's late, but it's still February!!
