Must I write this up here? I mean you all know already that I don't own Harry Potter. That strictly belongs to J.K.R.

Harry woke up in a cold sweat from the nightmare. May 1st was always the worst, and it was even harder that Ginny was on a trip with her Harpies friends, and Harry had to pretend everything was all right for the kids.

But still, the images leered at him from his mind. Fred's still body, Collin's limp form, Remus's pale face, scarred and peaceful, and his hand, clutching Tonks's as she lie next to him.

And worst of all, the pale, snakelike, face, with the red glaring eyes, rolling back into his head as he fell backwards. Somehow it felt unfinished. Even though Voldemort was dead, nothing could undo what he'd done. Harry lay shivering for a long time when his door creaked open.

"Al?" Harry called as his youngest son and middle child shuffled into the room. He would go to Hogwarts in four years, and was eager for the time to pass.

"Daddy?" Al said.

"What's wrong?"

"I had a nightmare, and I woke up and heard you screaming."

"I'm sorry. You can go back to sleep now."

"I'm scared, can I sleep with you?"

"Of course," Harry smiled and held the covers up as Al climbed in, clutching a stuffed lion. A gift from his Uncle Ron.

"Daddy, did you have a nightmare?"

"Yes, I suppose I did."

"Was it about that night?"

Harry's throat clogged. He had told his children minimal things, just explained that he had helped kill a man who had been evil. They had understood that it was never a topic to be discussed, but Harry sensed they were all bursting with questions about the man, and about the odd scar on his forehead.

"Yes," he choked out.

Albus cuddled close to his father's chest, and looked up into his eyes. Harry looked down at Albus Severus Potter's eyes. Harry Potter's eyes. Lily Evans-Potter's eyes. The big emerald orbs looked back at him, and Harry saw his eyes reflected in his son's.

"It's okay daddy," Albus whispered, as he started to close his eyes. "Nothing can hurt you. The bad man is gone. You're Harry Potter, my daddy, and nothing can hurt you."
