When Kathema visited the Imperial City for the first time after the Isles, she felt a strange sort of detachment. One one hand she fought for this place, and it was Martins, on the other hand it held too many memories. Then she watched how Ocato was assassinated, and she felt this detachment again. She had fought back to back with the Altmer, she'd blood beside him and they had both grieved for Martin. She stayed long enough for the funeral. Afterwards she left for the lands her family held in Cyrodiil.
first part in a series of snippets of how my Oblivion-character, a Dunmer woman named Kathema Sheothan coped with being the new Sheogorath. Kathema is, in my headcannon, part of a known Dunmeri family that worships Sheogorath. the founder was a Thane of Sheogorath, which explains where the name originates from. my Skyrim-Main-PC is her niece Tenanas "Bloodbringer" Sheothan. she will also make a few appearances here. Also, no matter how much it seems like Kathema and Martin were a thing... they weren't. Kathema saw him as a good friend who had a ton of bad luck and a crappy destiny. that does not mean that she does not blame herself for his death though...
