DISCLAIMER: Do not own anything. And this is based off of Devin Leigh Michaels' story Sibling Rivalry which is sooo amazing.
Annabeth
Suddenly the waves wrapped tightly around her ankles; she smiled widely. "Percy," she said in that musically strong voice of hers, not needing to turn around to know that the young godling was now lying nonchalantly on the sand.
"What's up, wise girl?" he jokes, allowing the waters to resume their natural caressing, not allowing himself to further touch her, bind her through his powers. Many things he had learned to live with but that he could not—would not ever do, use his power and status to get to her. Not only would Athena ensure his multiple deaths, he would never be able to live—exist for all of eternity knowing he had done that to her. Shaking his head at the morbid turn of his thoughts he directed his energies to amusing Annabeth.
She looked different. Sad—he decided: she looked very sad. And old. How much time had passed since they last saw each other? As a mortal he was never one to keep track of the minutes of each day, now an immortal it was nearly impossible to tell one month from the next.
Smirk frozen in place, he rises from the sand, willing his godly aura to go away; wishing for mortality, for a chance, for her love. His eyes tell her what he cannot speak out loud and somehow, she understands and she smiles. It's not the same smile from their camp half-blood days, but it's a smile nonetheless. But what she does after breaks his heart, she slowly but decidedly shakes her head.
"I suppose you came to complain about the lack of statues of you in Olympus?" she jokes lightly, trying to lift the somber mood which hung over them. Reunions were so fleeting and far apart that she hated to allow tiny things such as feelings and love mar the memory of them.
He frowned but indulged her, whatever made her happy. "Well, now that you mention it…"
A/N: I know I'm horrible with updating stories but it's very hard to be creative right now. I'm going through a lot but I will try to do better. Most of the chapters will vary in length but the first few will be short as I am still trying to work out where or how I want this story to go. Reviews (comments, questions and suggestions) are highly appreciated and I will give you credit if I use any of your ideas.

"There are rules Percy; rules which you never had to follow when you were merely a hero. No longer can you go anywhere, challenge anyone. To do so would be to invite a real war; one which you as a young god will not be able to withstand much less win."
