This is my first story, I hope you enjoy.
I heard a loud roar and the sound of pounding on pavement, the all too familiar sound of a tank. I began trying to start my truck up faster, but it wouldn't budge. The tank was in front of me. I took out my shot gun and prepared for the worst, but to my surprise he didn't attack, he just leapt over me. I looked behind me to see what that mutant was doing just in time to see green, acidic goo hit his face. He ran at the creature that did it, a spitter, only to be hit again. I realized he was just trying to defend me. "Why?" I thought.
After being hit a couple more times, the tank began to slow down and stumble. I couldn't stand back anymore. "Hey, big guy, Here's some help!" I took out my shot gun and blasted the spitter square in the chest, giving the behemoth time to crush the spitter. I jumped in my truck and started the engine. "Oh, now you work" I complained out loud. My truck started moving but I hit the brakes when I heard a loud groan. I sighed, not believing I was about to do this.
"I'm coming, freak." I said to him, taking out a health pack. "What do you need?" a asked sarcastically, not expecting a response.
"Help me…" the creature groaned, causing me to jump back. "You… you can talk?"
He groaned again. "Help, please". There was something strange about his voice, it didn't sound like what I expected. His voice was gruff and raspy, but it also sounded a little more high pitched than I'd expect. I shook my head and returned my focus to the tank. "So, uh… let me…uh…get that for you." I told him, taking out a rag and whipping the spitter goo off his face.
"Thank you!" he shouted.
I grabbed something from my health pack, a large can of antiseptic spray. "Okay, this is going to hurt, so, please don't kill me." I said, turning away and pointing the can at him. He shouted at the top of his lungs, making me jump. "So…sor…sorry" he barely made out. Finally I bandaged him up and started walking away. "Well… goodbye" I said hopping in my jeep. After driving a few feet, I turned and saw he was chasing me. "What are you doing? I said goodbye." I rode forward a little farther and he followed again. "I said shoo!" he didn't budge. I drove faster this time, but when I stopped again he was right next to my car. "I said LEAVE!" I shouted at him. He whimpered and sat down, looking away from me. Looking at him now, I could see that his voice wasn't the only weird thing about him. Instead of the normal ten foot giant that most tanks are, he was only about 7 feet. He was still huge, but very small for a tank. He began sobbing loudly and obnoxiously. "Ugh! Fine, you can come with me". He smiled, turning around to face me.
"But, you have to keep up, 'cause I'm not waiting up!" I told him.
"Race you!" He shouted, bounding forward. "Wait, you don't even know where I live… slow down!" I shouted to him, pushing the gas pedal down as hard as I could.
I've finally finished it!
Blargon7: I took you long enough
Shut up!
Blargon7: make me
Oh Mr. Tank!
Blargon7: I'm done
