Clare's POV

I was excited for today. Eli was taking me out on a date but he wouldn't tell me where. I was so anxious and excited but I had no idea what to wear. As I looked through my closet I was thinking "just go with very nice casual". As I was putting the finishing touches on my make-up I heard prince charming outside.

"Clare, your chariot awaits" Eli said as he honked the horn to Morty, Eli's car.

"Coming" I yelled back, "It is a little difficult to get ready for a date when you don't know where you're going". As I made my way out the front door I heard my laugh and could just see that beautiful smirk on his face. When I turned around, sure enough it was there.

"But where is the fun in the surprise of the date if I tell you" he said, holding the smirk on his face.

"Well I hope I'm dressed right for wherever we are going" I replied.

"You look amazing as always" he smiled and made me blush, "and perfect for where we are going". For the next half hour, we were singing along to the radio and just having a blast while we were driving. I have to say that Eli really got me hooked on Dead Hand. I love their music.

As the drive grew longer and longer I kept asking him, "Are we there yet?" and every time I got the same reply, "almost". Finally, we pulled into a parking lot that was packed. There was hardly any parking at all, but we got lucky because a car was just leaving. As I got out of the car I realized Eli brought me to the new carnival that had just opened up a week ago.

"I know how much you have been wanting to come here so I thought why not surprise you. Are you surprised?" he asked.

"Of course I am." I smiled, "Eli this is great. Thank you."

"Anything for my Clare-Bear" he smirked, using the nickname that only the people close to me use making me blush. As we started walking around the carnival and there was so much to do. We were going on roller coasters left and right. Something most people would never guess about me was that I am completely in love with roller coasters. Eli was trying his hand at a few game boothes as well and was dominating at them all until he met his match.

"Eli, it's ok. You can't win them all" I said.

"No, I'm going to win that giant ass bear for you if it is the last thing I do. I fell like it is mocking me." He then said, "Oh, you're going to be mine" to the bear. After Eli spent almost all his money he brought, he finally won the bear. "FINALLY, VICTORY IS MINE!" he shouted.

After I was done laughing at his outburst, I said, "Eli, I don't think we should play anymore games today"

"What?" he said in an innocent voice, "The bear was mocking me."

"I know sweetie, I know" I laughed at him as we walked away from the game booths with the giant ass bear.

It was getting late and I was ready to almost go when I saw, "THE FERRIS WHEEL! We have to go on it Eli. Pretty please with a cherry on top?" I said with a puppy dog face I just knew he could not resist.

"Fine, but only for you" Eli said and I was jumping for joy dragging him over to the line. The line was a short wait so before we knew it, we were in a cart riding to the top.

"Isn't the view amazing?" I asked, "I just love to see the lights at night. It's so beautiful."

"Nothing can ever compare to your beauty, Clare" he said which made me blush. I just snuggled deeper into him. As we were getting off the ride, we started to walk hand in hand back to the car. "Did you have a fun day?" he asked.

"It was the best" I said as I kissed him. Then we got in the car and he drove me home. When we arrived back at my house, he walked me to my door like a gentlemen. "Thanks for tonight Eli. I had a lot of fun" I smiled.

"Anytime. Well I better get home, goodnight Clare." He said as he started to walk away.

"Wait aren't you forgetting something?" I asked as I walked towards him.

"Oh yeah" he then kissed me good night. What a perfect way to end the night.
