Author's Note/Preface:

This is just a preface. Sorry. I'll be starting work on the idea soon. I just wanted to get a feel for people's opinions of the plot first. So again that's:

Eager, young journalist Charlie Kelmeckis moves to the city in the hopes of making it big, only to find himself stuck in between a rivalry of the city's oldest and most infamous gangs. The young reporter is at a loss until he's taken "under the wing" of the city's dynamic, crime-fighting duo, known only by their aliases: Slut and The Falcon.

So obviously this is not only combining the joke Patrick made at Kings in the movie but also an alternate-universe for the book. It's still a story of how friendship and romance got a boy out of his shell and helped him learn how to face the world, only this time instead of high school drama, its crime fighting.

-I'd really love some feedback on this one before I get started.-

Firstly, does everyone like the plot? The two rival gangs? Or should it maybe just be one that Charlie gets stuck under the thumb of? I don't know. Maybe tie it in with his brother who instead of being up at Penn State is in rehab for a gambling addiction and owes the gang money? That was another idea I was messing with and considering. Thoughts? Preferences?

Also, I'm questioning if I should write this in letter form so it's really just a straight AU for Perks, or... Should it be more like Charlie is actually trying to write the story and is making a self-insert, keeping generally on track with his freshman year experiences but also entangling the new plot? That's the idea I think I'm leaning towards.

I even considered having some chapters where you'd be back in the Perks world and Charlie is talking to Sam and Patrick about how the story is coming along or their responses as they read it. That idea I'm not married to, but I thought I'd throw it out there to see what feedback I got on it.

So everybody... Thoughts? Opinions? Ideas?
Please.
