Juvia Lockser definitely loved Gray Fullbuster, but what If all those times he returned her affection was False?
Drip, Drip, Drop. She couldn't handle the despair. Tears flowed from her pale face. Her body was quivering as she ran through the streets of Magnolia without any thought where she was going. All those times.. What a complete waste. How could I have been such a fool.
Flashback
The guild was lively as ever. Juvia was waiting for her Gray-sama to give her the attention she deserved. Gray caught her attention and was stressed out from looking at her. Juvia thought that it was another way of teasing until Gray went up to her and asked if she could talk to her outside the building. This is it! Gray-sama is going to confess his love for Juvia!. Her eyes were already heart-shaped, and could already feel the moment.
"Juvia" He called her with a stern look on his face. Seeing his face, she reverted back to reality.
"Is something the matter Gray-sama?" she asked with all seriousness.
"Juvia.. This love of yours, it's just not right."
"What are you saying Gray-sama?" her words were shaking as fear was painted on her face, the fear of rejection.
"What I'm saying is that you have to stop this love you have for me. I guess I was just confused whether I love you or not, but now I realize that you are just my nakama, my friend, nothing more, nothing less." He saw the woman's head bowed down and tears were flowing rapidly. "I'm sorry Juvia, if you had expected more from me, but this is what I truly feel and you deserve to know this. I'm sorry, I –" Before he could finish his sentence, Juvia already ran down to the streets of Magnolia very quickly.
The rain was heavy. It was suffocating. Juvia had never been badly broken by emotion. Her running stopped as it led her into the deep forest of Magnolia. Her knees dropped from grief. Juvia's life has no more purpose as her Gray-sama's words echoed in her mind. She wanted to die and embrace the pain of rejection. Suddenly, she sensed someone coming. The aura which that person was emitting was very familiar, It was dark but lonely as well. The person stopped in his tracks as he also sensed Juvia's presence.
"Show yourself" Juvia called loudly.
The man walked out of the shadows. Juvia's eyes widened as she saw the person who wore a black robe with a white sash draped around his torso.
"Zeref!" She had an encounter with this man before, back in Tenroujima. He used his death wave before, killing Zancrow but only grazed both her and Meredy leaving them unconscious. Juvia's body wanted to run as she is in front of death itself, but her mind says otherwise. The sorrow in her heart left her to face Zeref with such apathy.
"Are you not going to run?" he asked calmly. "You know what I can do right? .. I can kill you right here and now, so I advise you to run"
"No .." Juvia's words shocked Zeref himself.
"Why?" he asked.
"Because Juvia … doesn't care anymore." This statement left Zeref curious.
"Does not care about what?"
"Care about anything anymore, Gray-sama, No, Gray was the only person who was keeping me alive, gave me the hope of living again. I thought he would return the feelings I had for him. I guess I was too naïve and too caught up with my imagination"
"What about your guildmates? Don't you care about their feelings" Zeref could feel the pain in her words.
"I do, but not as much as I care for Gray"
"Do you want to die? If you do, I shall end your suffering here and now" Zeref asked. This question rung in Juvia's mind. The only thing she could do was give him a smile.
