Author's Note:
I cried when I watched Moulin Rouge!, so I decided to write a touching story that takes place in the same place, but instead starring our Sasuke and Naruto. I do not own Moulin Rouge (the movies or the actual place in France) and I do not own the characters of Naruto.
I would also like to point out that there are other fanfics about Moulin Rouge and this couple. That, in no way, means that I am copying them. It just means that we have similar inspirations. If you claim I am copying you, I am not. So don't worry. ;)
Chapter 1: Just a Little Adventure
April 27, 1897
Dear Journal,
What does it mean to fall in love? During this time, countless romantics and writers have asked the same question over and over, but it never does love justice.
I ran away from home, as many of you could probably guess. My father is a world renowned journalist, and my older brother next in line to take over the Uchiha title. I, on the other hand, am simply an English writer who refuses to give up on love. Only problem: I don't know what love is. My father, who threatened to disown me if I continued this obsession, drove me to where I am today: Paris. My friends, Choji, Kiba, Shino, and Lee, all came with me on the grand adventure. I'm not really sure Why I'm here, or what we plan on doing here, but I hope that We'll find amusement and live our lives to our fullest as we stay here.
Sasuke breathed in the opium smoke surrounding the Montmartre apartment he was staying at. It was almost dark, and already drunken men had begun to walk the street shout profanities in the slurred French. It had been three days since he arrived in Paris, and not once had he ventured out at night. Tonight, it was going to change. The people he came with were convinced that getting drunk and exploring Paris' nightlife was what was best for Sasuke, not that he could complain.
Sighing deeply, Sasuke took one last glance at the city outside before he turned to dress for the occasion. Even if he was getting wasted tonight, he wasn't about to do it in nothing but his knickers. Strolling to his brown, beaten suitcase, Sasuke pulled out a black dress-shirt and long, black trousers. It had been a family tradition to wear mostly black, as his family's nickname/title was the "Dark Nobles." As his ancestors had, Sasuke had pale white skin, cat-like black eyes, and jet-black hair.
Sasuke, currently shirtless, pulled on the black shirt, buttoning it up until only the top button was unfastened, and then slipped on the black pants. If this had been any other occasion, Sasuke would have put on his waistcoat and Ascot tie, but he was going to get so drunk, undoubtedly by Kiba's influence, that he might lose the clothing right off his back. Although the apartment he was staying at was so cheap that it even lacked a mirror, Sasuke knew that he looked good. Faintly satisfied with his appearance, Sasuke picked up his black Sack Coat off the coat hanger and pulled it on as he made sure he had his wallet in his coat pocket and his apartment key in his hand. Finally, after slipping on his black shoes (big surprise), Sasuke locked the apartment door and headed to his friends' apartment where he planned on drinking until midnight and heading out on the town.
Author's Note:
This is a short chapter, I know, but think of this as a prologue. I also understand that I have problems with completing stories. NO WORRIES! I plan on finishing this story and seeing it through to the end! However, I will not tell you if this story will end like the 2001 movie did. It might, but it might not. (though the summary did say "star-crossed")
