The thing about Eliot that surprises Hardison the most is that he's perfectly fine with public displays of affection. Alec had expected to be glared at or punched or something the first time he'd stretched an arm around the other man. He'd been pleasantly surprised to find that Eliot had just leaned into him, and continued on in his conversation with the slightly confused Sophie.
"Well, yeah," Eliot had said, waving his hands a little and nodding, "I kinda figured we'd do it that way. Just don't worry about it, Soph. I've got it handled."
Sophie had narrowed her eyes at him, not listening to anything he was saying. She pointed first at Eliot, and then at Hardison. Her eyes narrowed even further.
"So, when were you going to tell us that you two are…involved?" she asked, tapping the finger she'd been pointing with on her lips. Eliot furrowed his brow, irked that he'd been ignored. He pursed his lips, looked at Hardison and then back at Sophie.
"Right now, I guess. Anyway, did you get what I was sayin'?" he asked. He ran a hand through his hair, and that was when Hardison had stopped paying attention. He loved Eliot's hair. It was so long, and soft, and really fun to pull on when they-He was brought out of his thoughts by a sharp, hard elbow to his side.
"Ow! Eliot, what the hell was that for?"
"Parker asked you a question, dipshit." Eliot had returned, bitingly. Hardison's eyes widened, and he looked at the blonde that had just walked through the door. She'd stopped a few feet into the room, and was standing with her head cocked, lips tight, and eyes curious.
"Why do you have your arm around Eliot?" she asked, confused. There were no accusations behind her words, but Hardison heard them all. He stared at the arm that he had around the other man as if it had just caught fire. He jumped, pulling himself away from Eliot as fast he could, scooting to the other end of the couch. Eliot looked at him like he was crazy, while Sophie hid a giggle behind her hand.
"I didn't. I was stretching." Hardison spat the poorly formed lie out, and tried to straighten himself the best that he could. "Why would I put my arm around Eliot? That's- What would make you think that I would want to put my arm around him?" Parker shrugged her shoulders at this, and flounced over to a chair.
"I just thought that you guys were together because you have sex all the time. Whatever floats your boat, though." She said innocently, finding sudden interest in her nails. Alec just gaped at her, his mouth moving, though no words were formed.
"Oh, shut your mouth. You look like a fish. You're not exactly quiet, you know," Parker said, eyes never leaving her nails. Sophie finally let her laugh out. Hardison turned his gaze towards Eliot, and received only a glare.
"I-you…You know, I'm sorry Parker, it just kind of happened. I mean…I didn't even know I was-" Hardison stuttered, making eyes at Eliot to signal that he should help him, dammit. Eliot only glared.
"Gay. Yes, you did. Do you honestly think I care, though?" Parker finally looked up, a grin plastered on her face. "How vain of you," she said, getting out of her chair, and prancing off again. Sophie just looked on, mouth open in a laugh.
"I'll just leave you two to..." Sophie trailed off, clearing her throat, before following Parker. Hardison nodded, moving to sit next to Eliot. He opened his mouth to say something, and Eliot delivered a swift punch to his arm. Hardison grabbed the spot, doubled over in pain.
"I love you, but you are so stupid, y'know?"
