Love or not to Love: Chapter 1 [The Beginning]

I never knew it was going to happen to me. I mean, I know I have a crappy life and all but this was too much too handle, especially for a nine year old girl. I never liked him. You know when you meet someone and they just give off THAT "vibe". Well that was my impression of James, my mother's at- the time serious boyfriend. ..Only serious boyfriend. She loved him so much that she quit her "job" as a female escort for the entire period of their relationship.

I remember it like it was yesterday. It was my last day of third grade, oh how I was so sad to leave school. Sad…leaving school? Well I mean it was third grade. No drama, no homework, fun all the time, no finals, no boy trouble. Those were the days. I wish I could relive them. Well, back to the subject at matter. I came home from school and surprisingly my mom was home! It was usually my neighbor I would see daily after coming from school. I was at the utmost shocked.

"Mom, what are you doing here so early?" I was entirely confused…but then I saw him.

"Joanie, sweetheart, meet James" my mother started blushing.

"Uhh hi James!" I was still confused yet a bit weary at this point.

"Hello", said James.

"Well, Joanie I have to go to…work right now so your going to spend the day with James, ok?" My mom didn't tell me what her actual occupation was until I was 15.

"Um, ok…wait does Jasmine and Sammie know about this?" I was pretty sure they didn't.

"Oh, well no…" my mom was very hesitant, then left.

"Oh Joanie, we are going to have a lovely time" James said in a very sly voice.

"OH! I love games!" I was starting to like this guy.

"Oh, well I don't think this is a game you're familiar with…as of yet" James said in his sly voice, yet again.

"Oh, well what's the name of the game?" I was getting more confused.

"It doesn't better what the name is…as long as I- I mean we have fun, right?"

Of course I was a naïve little nine year old girl, so I gave in to him.

"Well, I need to take your clothes off" James started creeping up to me. Strangely he had a pan with him. Why would he want that?

"Um, this is-

BANG. I went unconscious.

"Mrs. Hart! Please give us the answer as to why Juliet killed herself?!" exclaimed my English teacher, Mrs. Hardwick.

"Oh, well she uh she…" I was mumbling.

"Well?" she was beginning to sound impatient.

I was about to give a shitty answer but at last! The bell rang!

Mrs. Hardwick sighs and tells me to give her the answer tomorrow or else another Saturday detention will be my next destination.

As I was walking home, I saw flyers on all the doors on my street. I wondered what they were for. I snatched one of off my friend, Alvin's door. I read the first sentence and I dropped the paper and ran home…

The flyer…it was him…he was on the loose.
