Chapter 1

Another day in the World That Never Was. Get a mission, do a mission, rest. Every... single... day...

Saix sat in the Grey Room of the Organization's castle, relaying orders to each of its members, bar Xemnas. He now waited only on a certain blonde ceraunophile to receive her mission for the day.

"Ah, Larxene," The Luna Diviner exclaimed, his voice as monotone as he could make it, "I see you've finally decided to show up."

Larxene shrugged off his mocking tone, her face displaying a visible annoyance at the routine she had become all too familiar with.

"Cut the jokes, blue moon," She retorted, "Just tell me where I need to go and what I need to beat."

Saix cocked an eyebrow briefly at Larxene's to-the-point attitude. He had grown used to it, of course, but it nevertheless fascinated him how could she could play the character of a careless apath.

"I think you mean 'Where you and you partner are going'. I've assigned Xion to be your partner for today's mission."

Larxene gritted her teeth, attempting to stifle her anger at the prospect of being paired up with the puppet. It did not work.

"The two of you will go to Twilight Town, where a Behemoth heartless has recently taken up residence at the local train station." Saix continued, calm and collected in the face of Larxene's visible dismay, "Clear your way to this Heartless by any necessary means and destroy it. Xion is waiting for you at the castle entrance."

Saix turned his back to Larxene and left through a dark corridor, leaving Larxene to mumble angrily to herself as she made her way to Xion.

Larxene arrived at the entrance to the Castle That Never Was and found Xion standing against a wall, twirling her Keyblade around as she awaited Larxene's arrival.

"Oh, there you are," The black-haired girl said quietly, "Are you ready to-"

"Stay quiet, I'm taking the lead here, alright?" The Savage Nymph snapped, asserting her authority over the Organization's most recent recruit.

Xion nodded, her eyes wide open with alarm. Larxene raised her hand, making sure not to break eye contact with Xion, and opened a dark corridor that lead straight to the entrance to the Twilight Town Mansion.

"Let's go." Larxene ordered, bluntly. She vanished into the portal and Xion followed quickly behind.

The pair stepped out of the dark corridor as it closed behind them. They stood in front of the gated fence that surrounded one of Twilight Town's key attractions and studied their surroundings. Xion spoke first.

"There should be a way into the town through the forest-"

"I know the way into town. Follow me, and for the last time, keep quiet." Larxene shouted, matter-of-factly, staring daggers into the younger girl's eyes. She could see her fear and enjoyed it more than she wanted to admit.

Larxene led Xion through the forest, effortlessly dispatching any rogue heartless foolish enough to cross their path. Xion's skills with her Keyblade were impressive, Larxene gave her that credit, though she still had much to learn. They made their way through the silent streets of Twilight Town, taking note of the lack of residents – residents with hearts, that is. Shadow and Soldier heartless occasionally made their presence known but were far less than a match for the combined strength of the two Organization members. They followed the winding streets until they reached the station and laid eyes on their target.

The Behemoth easily dwarfed the pair in size, casting a dark shadow over the station's canopied roof. The horn on its head brimmed with energy, and its legs looked as if they could squash either girl if they made so much as a single misstep.

Larxene made the first move.
