The Seemingly Impossible
Disclaimer- don't own torchwood or the definition of love
A/N- I told my friend I didn't believe in love... This transpired. Enjoy. Reviews are much appreciated. I bet the word love is written here over twenty times.
"You don't believe in love!? What does that even mean?" Tosh asked.
"I don't know!? I don't believe in love? Why does this surprise you?" Owen responded to Tosh's outburst.
"What do you mean by you don't believe in love?"
"When I say I don't believe in Love I mean that I don't think anyone's in love. I have never heard of unconditional lOve or love at first sight or any of that bull shit. You say you would do anything for a person but in reality you wouldn't. And saying you would die for that person is easy. Dying for someone isn't doing anything special. Getting tortured and having to spend the rest of your life on some island no ones ever heard of and probably starVing unless you did back breaking work just so the one you love could live? I mean would anyone agree to that. Only in movies and books would anyone ever do that." OwEn said, his voice getting louder and angrier as the sentence went on.
"But that doesn't sum up everything about love." Tosh tried to argue.
"You want me to continue? Ok fine! Love doesn't last. In the beginning everything is new and special. Everything is pretty. Flowers. Dinner. Love. But then it starts to get old. People start to argue. People fall out of love just as fast as they jump into it. Flowers get forgotten and love gets lost. People run away. And That love you had is gone. It's only a memory of something that was there. Then who's going to pick up the pieces. I'm sure as hell love's not going to do it!" Owen was on the verge of yelling.
"What was her name?" Tosh asked trying to figure out who made Owens idea of love so screwed up.
"Katie." Owen said his voice barley a whisper.
"What happened?"
"We were in love." Owen said as if it explained everything.
"And?"
"And love never lasts." Owen said softly, finishing the conversation.
