I Missed You

There was a bleak atmosphere everywhere Harry went in the Burrow. Everyone, except for Bill, Charlie and Percy, was resting. The three oldest Weasley were talking in hushed voices in the kitchen while Fleur slept peacefully in the next room, she had been feeling under the weather lately. Harry left them to go check on Ginny. For the time being, she was his main concern. Nothing else honestly mattered to him. He quietly snuck up the stairs; missing all the squeaky parts. He knew where to step from sneaking around with Ron (and occasionally Ginny) so much.

Harry knocked politely on Ginny's door before entering. She quickly stood up and tried in vain to wipe her eyes, but it was too late. Right away, he swept her up into his powerful arms.

"It's okay to cry," he whispered as he stroked her long hair. She buried her face in his chest and broke down into fresh sobs.

"It's not fair. Why did he have to die? He was so young!" All Harry could do was hold her until her tears of anguish and pain ran dry.

It took Ginny nearly fifteen minutes to collect herself once again. She snaked her arms around his neck and stared longingly into his eyes.

"Why did you have to leave me?" she demanded softly. Closing his eyes to block out the pain in her eyes, Harry sighed heavily. Even though the war was over, he still had some loosed ends to tie up; mainly with Ginny.

"I had things to do, you know that," he replied.

"I do, but I wanted to go with you. Did you want to be with me? Didn't you care about me?"

"Of course I cared about you; I still care about you more than anything, which is why I couldn't let you come with me. If anything had happened to you, I wouldn't have been able to handle it," he confessed, exposing his vulnerable side to her. She ran her hands down his muscular chest, and their lips met in a tender kiss. All that mattered was the fact that they were together again.

Meanwhile, Bill, Charlie and Percy continued to talk in hushed voices about anything but Fred.

"So are Harry and Ginny…" Percy trailed off as he struggled to find the appropriate word to describe the unusual relationship between Harry and Ginny.

"Dating? Yeah," Bill replied as he refilled his glass of Firewhiskey that they had smuggled into the house after their mother had fallen asleep with the slightest flick of his wand.

"It's pretty rocky though, so anything can happen," Charlie added. Just then, Ron stumbled into the kitchen to join his brothers. Despite his nap, he looked horribly sleep deprived from spending nearly a year on the run with Harry and Hermione. He flopped into the empty seat next to Bill and grabbed the bottle of contraband Firewhiskey.

"I know that you're not going to drink straight from that," Bill said. Ron stared defiantly at his brother as he took a long swig on the Firewhiskey. Bill shoved his roughly, and all four of them began to laugh.

Ginny took a deep breath, inhaling Harry's wonderful scent. She leaned against his chest while he rested his chin on the top of her head.

"I missed you," she breathed.

"I missed you too." The silence resumed. Once in a while they'd exchange small, loving kisses to remind them of their love for each other. All their time apart was being made up for as they held each other and enjoyed the warm afternoon sunlight that cast a cozy glow throughout the room.

The End

A/N: I based this off a fanart I found (but didn't draw, I can't even draw a stick person!). Go to my profile to find the link to my photobucket, the picture has the same title as the story.
