I ran onto the fire escape, desperate to flee the collapsing building. It was then I heard a voice call out "Mom, Dad, don't leave me!" The owner of that voice then started sobbing.

My mind immediately flashed back to when I was a little kid, crying out those same things to my parents. I darted back inside, hoping not to see what I knew I was going to see.

Luck, however, was not on my side. There was a family of three-a mother, a father, and little boy-and an overcrowded elevator. I watched as the parents tried to shove their kid into the elevator. I thought back to when it was me being shoved into an overcrowded elevator.

I couldn't let the same thing that happened to me happen to that little boy. I grabbed the boy's arm and told him and his parents to follow me.

They seemed a little alarmed to see that I had come to their rescue, but I had to save the whole family. I was not going to let that little boy suffer the same fate I had.

We got to the fire escape. The mother took my hands in hers and thanked me. I was about to follow them, when a bunch of wooden planks fell, blocking my path. My mission was done, though. The family had escaped together.

I quickly told them that I would find another way, knowing perfectly well that those may be my last words.

I got onto the roof, only to see the oni colossus rocking back and forth on its feet. I thought back to that boy and his family. I had saved his parents from death, and might've saved that little boy as well.

It hit me suddenly. How was Lloyd supposed to stop the Devourer? He had only released the Serpentine, nothing more. How was he supposed to know that Pythor would release the Devourer? How was he supposed to know that the Devourer was nearly invincible?

He didn't. He was only, like, ten.

And after that, what happened? Garmadon was possessed by the Overlord, and Lloyd stopped him. They stopped the Golden Master, but at the expense of Zane. They defeated the faux Anacondrai warriors, while being led by Lloyd.

Lloyd was then possessed by a ghost, but Nya stopped the Preeminent.

And what was I doing while the ninja were busy saving Ninjago? Planning my revenge against Lloyd.

With all the ninja have done for Ninjago, it's only natural that they can't save everyone. My heart plummeted when I realized that that little boy could've, no, would've grown up like me.

And it would've been my fault.

Suddenly, the oni colossus crashed into the building. I started panicking. I had awakened a monster and he was about to kill me.

A ways away, I could see Lloyd holding a seemingly unconscious Skylor. I saw the pain in his eyes and realized that he had suffered too.

He was the true son of Garmadon, the Green Ninja. He had started out simply wanting to be like his father, but then the ninja took him in.

Destiny chose him, but he chose to live up to it. That's all he had been doing, even before the Devourer.

I had taken his friends away, his family, his home. Oh Lloyd, I thought. I'm sorry.

If only I had gotten to know him a little better. If only I had been there, knowing what he had been through. So many "if only" thoughts.

I heard him say, softly as it was, "Rumi."

My last thought before plummeting was, If only I had loved you back.

Everything seemed to move in slow motion. I was aware of everything.

My last words were, "I forgive you, Lloyd."

A/N: I can't believe the Hageman brothers killed off Harumi! Talk about a character waste.
