At The End Of Pain in the Heart:

Temperance's POV:

"I think you gave him something great Bones." Booth said. I rested my head on his shoulder. This is going to be a long night. Zack... A hot tear slid down my cheek. Booth put his arms around me and pulled me into a hug. We stayed like that for some time.

"Why don't we go to my place. I'll make you some dinner." He suggested.

"Okay." I said. He got up and then helped me up. We walked to his car in silence, we both got in and Booth started the car.

"Do you really think Zack did it?" I asked.

"I don't know what to think Bones." He said. "Zack was a really good squint."

"Can you not call him a squint?" I asked.

"Sorry." Booth said. "I know how much you must be hurting-"

"No you don't Booth. No you don't." I said, crying a bit. "My parents left me, my brother left me and now Zack. I don't kn ow if I can trust anyone anymore." I said.

"You can trust me." He said. "I will never leave you."

"You can't promise that." I said.

"The only reason I'd ever leave you is if I die, and I'm a very strong person." He replied.

"You really will stay?" I questioned in a weak voice.

"I will stay forever Temperance." He replied. A smile graced my lips.

"forever is a long time." I said.

"I know that." He replied. We were quiet until we made it to Booth's.

"Why do you care so much?" I asked.

"Because..." Booth said, "You're my partner, you're my friend, and..." The car had been shut off by then, he turned to me. "I in love with you."

I was too shocked to speak, really. I grabbed him and kissed him with all the passion I could muster up. When we seperated, he had a huge grin on his face. He pulled me in and hugged me.

"Alright, lets go in and I can make you some dinner." He said, letting go of me.

"And some beer?" I asked.

"And some beer." He replied. We got out of the car and walked into his house holding hands. I'd realized that no matter how much I lost and will lose, Booth will always be there, to catch me when I fall, and I can live with that.
