Durnik, Belgarion, and Belgarath trotted slowly down the hill expectantly, allowing time for Poledra to clean up. Inside, the fire was crackling, shedding warmth and light over Pol and the newborn twins. Pol looked up at Durnik.
"What are you going to name them, husband?" she asked in content, slightly holding out the two bundles. Peeking nervously into the tiny face of a Brown-haired, tawny eyed little girl, he thought for a moment. She was quiet, looking up at him silently. Instantly, he knew he was looking at the firstborn, and so touched her lightly on the shoulder. Wincing slightly at the small zap, he stared in horror at the white patch that had appeared where his fingers had touched his daughter. Durnik looked tp Pol, who smiled and told him "that's the mark, durnik. It's supposed to happen."
Relieved, he solemnly held up the small babe, and said in a clear voice "Hello Belegra, I am your father."
Handing the newly-named child to her mother, Polgara looked down at the small miracles in her arms, then turned specifically to Belegra.
"And I am your mother."
Belgarath reacher for his first granddaughter, saying "and I am your father." before passing her to Garion.
"I am your cousin." he stated, holding the silently-staring Belegra carefully.
Taking the baby out of his hands, Poledra eyed the young child respectfully before saying "and I, young one, am your grandmother."
After the naming was over for Belegra, Poledra placed her back in her mothers arms, carefully adjusting the blanket.
Handing the next babe to Durnik, Polgara held Belegra close, cooing softly, eyes content.
Durnik touched her on her small shoulder expectantly, with no results. Sighing, Belgarath nodded, saying "it's alright Durnik. It was to be expected."
Nodding slightly, Durnik said loudly "hello, Poldira. I am your father", then passed her around as before.
Suddenly, a Lavender colored beam of light came from outside. Garion and Belgarath went to meet Eriond and the other gods, taking them inside silently.
"Polgara." Eriond said quietly.
"Eriond." she replied back, nodding a greeting.
"Congratulations. That which you have longed for has finally come, and we have come to bless you and your children."
Smiling radiantly, Pol started to rise, but Eriond walked over, glowing serenely.
