"Damon!" Faye yelled, pushing branches out of her way as she moved through the dense shrubbery, her eldest brother had taken her into the woods early this morning and as soon as they had gotten to the denser areas he disappeared without a word, leaving her completely alone. She crossed her arms, growing quite irate now; he had promised to be nice this time, promised to show her his secret place in the woods and now he'd abandoned her. But she refused to be scared, refused to listen to ruffles and ominous noises coming from the shadows, Faye had spent six years knowing these woods, there was nothing to be scared of, not even the Goosebumps on her skin or the shapes that danced in the corner of her eyes.

She stood still, waiting a little longer to see if her brother was going to appear, if he was going to be true to his word. She tapped her foot against the woodland floor, scaring away small insects and cracking small twigs beneath her feet, before finally losing her patience. "Fine!" she yelled as loud as she could, "I'm going home!" She clutched the bottom of her dress, holding it high above her ankles so it didn't catch on the undergrowth; the ladies had scolded her many times after she returned with mud all over her dress and ripped hems. She had been doing so very well until something caught her, she gave the train a tug but whatever it was it was holding on tight. She scowled at her dress, she didn't see why she had to wear them in the first place, they were just a nuisance and always got in the way when she tried to play; more times than not when she'd been running from Damon or Stefan she would trip over on it. The ladies told her to stop acting like such a child and stop playing these games, but why should her brothers still be able to play while she sat inside and sewed all day? That was hardly fair.

Faye walked back to where her dress was caught, pushed back the bushes where it had snagged and was met by two huge blue eyes staring back at her, the face completely black but the eyes stared intensely at her. She was frozen in fear as she stared into them, and then they started to move, the branched rustled and the eyes drew closer. Faye's screams scared birds from their nests high up in the trees as well as rabbits and mice hiding amongst the ground, they all ran in fear but Faye was unable to, two hands had ceased her own and drawn her close. Her eyes were screwed up in fear but she could feel hot tears running down her cheeks, then she heard a familiar laugh and the voice spoke her name. "Did I scare you that bad Faye?" Her eyes sprang open and she stared with hatred right into the eyes of the brother who abandoned her earlier. She screamed again, but there was no fear this time. She ripped her hands from his and started to smack him before she decided to leave him instead. She pushed him onto the floor and ran back to the house, not caring as her dress dragged through the mud or snagged on thistles. Once she entered their home she ran past all of their servants, stumbled up the large stair case and rushed towards her only good brother. His voice was full of concern as he called her name, she flung into his arms and buried her head against his chest, she hadn't realised she was still crying but it wasn't because she was scared anymore, this time she was full of anger. Why had she thought Damon would change?
