A/N: Written for the Indigo League Challenge. I have to write a fic that's between 100 and 300, mine is 252 words long, with the prompt first and within an hour, I wrote it in 15 minutes. Also written for the One Million Word Comp.
First Timer Nerves
Ritchie gulped nervously as he stared up at the stadium with large fearful but determined eyes. His hand patted the Pokeballs on his belt in a jester meant to calm and reassure him. Crowds of people walked past him, each one had their own expression on their faces that made it easy for him to pick out just who would be competing in the League with him.
'Pull yourself together Ritchie, you can do this' Ritchie told himself as he pulled himself together 'Just think of this as another gym battle...there is nothing to get yourself worked up about...even if this is the first time you have ever taken part in something like this.'
Doing his best to ignore his first timers nervous Ritchie walked forwards and through the large welcome sign. As Ritchie made his way towards the reception to register for the League he could not keep his eyes off of the many sights that he came across, a face painting stall, dancing Pokémon, hook a Magikarp, he even spotted a trainer the same age as him wearing a red and white baseball cap with a Pikachu that remained him of his Sparky on his shoulder.
'This might only be my first time taking part in something big like this but I bet it will be great' Ritchie thought excitedly as he spotted the reception building 'I have a good feeling that the next few days will bring some amazing battles. I can't wait to meet all the new trainers.'
