Chapter 1: A Simple Accident
It was a simple accident really. A drunken accident honestly. Something unnoticed thanks to the huge commotion of the after party for the Grand Magic Tournament. Though only a few people knew what had happened.
Lucy Heartfilia stood at an inconspicuous corner of the party hall, watching the friendly commotion from a safe distance. At this point mostly everyone had a little too much alcohol, and soon afterward a fight broke out between the guilds. Lucy was just about to go back to talk with Yukino, when she spotted Natsu walking clumsily towards her. Obviously he was drunk.
"Lucy! What are you doing here all by yourself?" he managed to say with a drunken slur. "This is a party! We have to party~"
"I was just about to go back and speak with Yukino," Lucy said, smiling at Natsu's drunken state. You wouldn't believe this is the Salamander. The one who helped fend off the threat of actual dragons, led by a future Rouge who fell into darkness, and manage to destroy the Eclipse Gate. This is the same Natsu Dragneel, with a drunken playful smile.
"Oh," he hiccuped. "You are? That's nice. . . . You look nice Lucy~"
"Thanks Natsu," Lucy played along. It's not everyday she gets a compliment on her looks from him. Natsu being Natsu, is usually dense on the whole womanly charm.
"I mean it~ You look very pretty~" he continued. Even though Lucy knows he is drunk, she couldn't help but to blush. "Oh, your red! Did you drink too much?"
"I should be the one asking you that Natsu," she laughed her blush turned into a faint pink. Natsu made a puzzled look at her.
"Why? I didn't drink too much~" he slurred again. "I mean I did have a few drinks."
"Define a few."
"Hmm, I think seven."
"That's a lot Natsu."
"No, a lot is what Cana drinks."
"Well she can take a lot."
"So can I Lucy, I ain't no lightweight."
"Well your no Cana."
"Haha! Hey Lucy did I say you look pretty?"
"Yes, you did Natsu."
"Your so pretty I could kiss you," Lucy was taken aback by this declaration. Alarm bells went off in her head, and she knew she had to go.
"Thanks Natsu, I should go to Yukino," Lucy began to walk off in no general direction. That was when Natsu grabbed her arm. When Lucy turned around, Natsu's face was too close for comfort. He had such a determined look on his face too.
"I mean Lu," Natsu suddenly closed the distance between them. His lips crashed into hers, and just as suddenly Natsu left. Leaving Lucy standing in the exact same spot; her legs seemingly about to turn into jelly.
"Lucy you ok?" Levy seemingly popped out of nowhere, shocking Lucy into attention.
"I-I'm fine!" she turned about face towards Levy, her face bright red.
"You sure Lucy? Gajeel said to check on you," Levy said a little concerned.
"What why?" Lucy blurted.
"I don't know," Levy replied.
