A story about Mary and Robbie as newly weds with Lucy, Kevin and the Camden's too.
Chapter One: Settling In
Robbie smiled at his bride. He finally married her, the love of his life. Mary Camden, well now, Palmer.
" So this is it." Robbie said as he surveyed the small two- bedroom apartment.
" Yeah" Mary said, " It's small but at least its ours."
Robbie laughed. Mary joined him. They shared a long look into each other eyes and then kissed.
" Our first kiss in our new apartment." Mary commented.
" I guess it will be a night of first for us." Robbie said as he pulled her towards the bedroom.
The warm sun on his face awoke Robbie from sleep. Robbie arose from the warmth of the bed to get ready for the first day at work. While finishing his education he had gotten a job working as a student teacher in a kindergarten class. He knew Mary was up by the sound of a running shower.
" Are you nervous, Mar?" Robbie asked later as the two sat eating breakfast.
It was Mary's first day as an assistant buyer at Macys Department store.
" A little. How bout you?"
" Same here."
The two kissed goodbye and went there separate ways. Mary started her car and headed to her workplace. After she'd parked and made her way to the front desk.
" Hi I'm Mary Palmer. Today is my first day."
" Good Morning Mary" the friendly receptionist said, "What department are you working in?"
" I'm an Assistant Buyer."
" Ok you need to see Rachel.. go down the hall her office is right there."
" Thanks."
" No problem."
Mary made her way down the hallway her stomach doing flips. Once she reached the door she quietly knocked. " Come in."
Mary opened the door. Behind the desk sat a pretty blonde.
" You are." The blonde said.
" I'm Mary Palmer."
" Right the new assistant buyer" the blonde said, " Hi come in sit down."
Mary took a seat.
" My name is Rachel Leigh. I'm the buyer for Macys" Rachel said, " So let's see since it's your first day let me show you where your office is and set you up with a few things."
Mary felt relived. May be starting this new job wouldn't be so bad.
Robbie had class after work so Mary got home first. She walked through the door and laid her things down. The answering was blinking. Mary pressed it then looked in the fridge for dinner.
" Hi Mary this is Lucy I just wanted to see how your first day went. Call me back ok bye"
Beep
" Hi Mary this is your brother Simon just wanted to see how you liked the first day. Bye."
Beep
" Hey Mary this is your favorite little sister Ruthie. So how was your first day? Call me back." Beep
" Hi honey it's your Mom. Just wanted to see how you are Robbie are doing? Call me back."
Mary smiled. She wouldn't trade her family for anything.
