Note : This story takes place on the Undying Lands, years after Frodo sailed to the West. There he met a young Hobbit-lass and got married. They have two children , a 7 years old girl named Maureen and a 5 years old boy named Sam. I just wanted to tell you this sweet little moment between Frodo and his daughter without explaining how he met his wife and everything. It would have been to long.

And I'm sorry if I make mistakes sometimes, i'm French :)

-Tell me again Dad !

Maureen was on her father's laps et her head laid gently on his chest. Frodo sighed :

-It's been two times now Maureen !

-I know that, but it is my favorite part ! Your old life in the Shire seems so wonderful ! Tell me again Bilbo 111th birthday party !

-It is getting late Maureen, you should be in bed by now !

-Allright ! Do not tell any more story then ! But please let me stay here to talk to you ! Only for a little while !

Th little girl looked at her father with her eyes full of hope and Frodo finally nodded. Maureen smiled ... but they didn't talk. They just looked at the round window of Frodo's study where laid the sea as far as the eyes could see.After a long time, Maureen broke the silence by asking with a low voice,without taking her eyes off the ocean :

-What do you think Sam is doing right now ?

-He's sleeping in his room and that is what you should be doing young lady !

Maureen sighed and laughed.

-I wasn't talking about THIS Sam, Dad ! I was talking about Uncle Sam who lives in the Shire. What do you think he's doing at this moment ?

Frodo didn't aswer right away and Maureen got scared to have hurt her father's feelings by talking about his old friend. But Frodo gently smiled and answered :

-Such as I know him, I bet he must be at his desk or next to the fireplace talking to Rosie. Or to Elanor : she must have grow up now. She was only a baby when I left. I'm sure she bacame a beautiful young lady. I remember when she was born : Sam was totally crazy ! I couldn't calm him down ! I didn't believe at that time that I would feel such a joy one day...ever...

By saying this, he looked down at his daughter and let his cheek on the little girl's curly head.

-Do you miss him Dad ?

-Well...Yes of course I miss him but I know he's happy in the Shire with his family as I am with mine. And I also know that we will see each other again one day. Thanks to this I don't feel so sad.

-I can't wait to meet him Daddy...

-I know .So do I...

A few minutes later, Maureen fall asleep. At this moment Frodo thought that this life of happiness will never end, that nobody could break the joy that Frodo's family and his new life was giving him.

And he was right...
