So. It snowed today. And I've had this story idea in my head forever. So I wrote it. Lol, descriptive, huh? Plus I need some RoxasxOlette in my collection. Enjoy! Oh, and again I haven't had this beta-ed so if you notice any errors please tell me! Thank you oh so much.

Disclaimer: I do not own Kingdom Hearts nor the song "Down and Out" by The Academy Is… which I got the idea for this fanfic from.

Forever Hold Your Peace in Pieces

Roxas held in a glare as he smiled upon his friends; the thought that he should be the one at the altar with Olette and Hayner should be the one stuck as best man refusing to leave his mind. While the preacher recited his lines, Olette looked to Roxas with a smile. It was almost enough to bring the blonde to tears as he returned the favor with a slight smile.

He was happy for her; he really was, if it was what she wanted. However, the hatred going out towards his other best friend swallowed up that happiness. Hayner didn't love her. At least, not like he did. It was just that Roxas did not have the courage to ask her out; Roxas did not have the courage to kiss her even with as many chances as he had had; Roxas was just not as 'smooth' as Hayner and he never would be.

Even before Olette had accepted Hayner's proposal, she came rushing to Roxas; asking if it was the right thing to do. Despite how he wanted to scream out no, he told her yes with a broad smiling; adding how perfect the two were for each other.

"Speak now or forever hold your peace."

Roxas was snapped out of his flashback from that statement. This was his chance.

His mouth gave a slight twitch as he watched the audience's eyes eagerly darting around the room, just waiting for some one to object so that they could be torn apart by their death glares. The blonde then bowed his head in disgrace of himself as he awaited his world to collapse into itself.

Olette stared desperately at Roxas, hoping he would exclaim his love for her and save her from this loveless marriage. She did love Hayner, but not in the way that Hayner loved her. Despite how unhappy she was, she simply could not ruin her own wedding. She couldn't ruin what she had dreamed of ever since she was a little girl; even if it was not the man she had thought would be beside her.

So she prayed for Roxas to save her. Olette loved him but never had the courage to admit it to Roxas himself; just to Pence and no one else. Once Hayner had asked her out, Olette got the crazy idea that maybe she could grow to love Hayner romantically; but it just was not so. Watching Roxas' head lower with a grimace, she realized that he was not going to say a word.

The brunette shut her eyes and let an inaudible sob past her lips as tears escaped from her eyes. Looking back up at Hayner with a forced smile, he did not give her a questioning look; only smiled. Olette thanked god that he believed her to be nervous and could not see her real emotions.

"I do." Hayner pronounced.

Moments later, Olette had to repeat the statement, "…I do."

From that moment, two hearts failed to beat again.
