Another piece of clothing landed haphazardly upon the floor as she searched frantically for what she needed.
"Come on, it has to be here!" She hissed to herself, rummaging through her wardrobe.
She wanted everything to be prefect- there was to be no flaws tonight. That is why she wanted it so badly; otherwise everything would be spoilt before it even began.
To be completely honest, she wasn't exactly a vain person. She didn't spend a lot of time focusing upon her image; but tonight… Tonight was different to any other time. She wanted to look stunning; she wanted her appearance to make an impression.
She was in a mess, not knowing what to do. She scrambled around in her the clothes she had strewn everywhere, hoping that maybe she had overlooked this particular item. But it was proving to be difficult to find it.
Why didn't I think this through? She thought to herself miserably, looking at her half dressed state in the mirror. Everything was meant to be perfect! Why did she always do things like this? All but three hours ago she had the idea of wearing the perfect outfit for the perfect night.
But now the event of a lifetime was fast approaching and she was looking like this! If anyone saw her, he wouldn't know how much time she had spent planning for this night. Yes, she was overly keen, but this was something she wanted to go well.
The doorbell pierced her thoughts, and she grimaced. He was here, early no less. She was in a stage of dress, and she hadn't found what she wanted. She grabbed one of the tops from her bed, pulling it on hastily. She looked at herself in the mirror, cursing her misfortune. From the moment she had agreed to this, until the moment it had arrived- it had been a disaster. It just went to prove that perfection was not in her nature.
She didn't look as beautiful as she wanted -needed- to look for this moment. The shirt she had picked up had to be one of the worst ones found in her whole collection; a black one that loosely clung to her- not flattering at all (or so she thought).
The doorbell rung again, he was definitely getting impatient, or maybe he was dubious whether this was really the right thing to do. She took a calming breath, walking over to the door. She straightened her clothes out again, and opened the door.
He looked perfectly relaxed as always, she noted. He had kept with his reserved clothing, no bright colours and… He looked stunning. She smiled shyly at him, and he returned it with his normal jovial grin.
"Hey," His tone soft and light. "You look really good tonight."
She blushed violently.
"Thanks Greg."
