Marinette closed her history book with relief. There had been an akuma fight today, and on top of that, Mrs. Bustier had assigned a long report, due by the next day. Marinette had been working on it for hours. Just as she was putting her pyjamas on, ready to go to bed, she heard an enormous crash.
Great.
The second akuma attack- no, the first akuma attack that day, as midnight had passed long ago. As she fumbled with her pillows, shoving them under the covers of her bed so that it looked vaguely like she was asleep, Marinette heard an all-too-familiar cry.
"Give me your miraculous, Chat Noir!"
"C'mon, Tikki! SPOTS ON!" Marinette cried, leaping onto her balcony as the red and pink light swirled around her. The girl in the red-and-black suit raced toward the boy in the black one. Chat Noir was tied to a flagpole. A girl in a dark blue dress laughed, snow swirling around her like Elsa from Frozen.
"Game over, stray cat. Looks like your so-called partner never showed up, so I win. Give me your ring!"
"Not so fast." Ladybug threw her yo-yo up in the air. "Lucky Charm!" She caught the red and black blanket. "Um, okay?"
"Nice to see you, m'lady!" Chat Noir shouted from the flagpole. "But can you untie me so we can defeat this Stormy Weather knockoff?"
"Sure, kitty! Use your Cataclysm!" Ladybug threw her blanket at the akumatized victim, who attempted and failed to get it off, getting more and more tangled in it, while Chat Noir used his cataclysm on the flagpole.
"How did I not think of that?" He wondered aloud. Together, they took the necklace and Ladybug purified the akuma. "Bug out!"
As soon as she got home, Marinette detransformed and collapsed on her bed. It was a long night, but she had school in the morning and Mrs. Bustier had threatened to put her in detention if she was late again. But what could she say? "Sorry, Mrs. Bustier, but I was up most of the night doing homework and saving Paris from the latest akumatized victim. I'm Ladybug, you see, so I'm the only one who can truly save them." Yeah, that would go over well, especially with Tikki. Marinette had to keep her identity a secret, and if she told anyone, bad things would happen. Marinette wasn't sure what those things were, but had Tikki ever misled her before?
Thank you so much for reading this. I'm not sure when or if I will post a part two, but other Miraculous fanfictions are always a possibility.
