flashes of memories
albums; photos
remembering you

i thought I'd erected
an unbreakable barrier
but you stepped through

your smile
radiant; comforting
it warmed my heart of ice

your gaze
understanding; caring
enough to melt me

but then you left
for the next world
left me behind

i'm coming now; to join you
i miss you so it hurts
put an end to that; breach the distance.
