Disclaimer: I do not own The Legend of Zelda.

Alternative ending: Twilight princess.

A feeling of happiness spread throughout Link as he plunged the Master Sword into Ganondorf's evil chest. All at once, the twilight that hovered over the plains of Hyrule lifted, and the land became beautiful once more. Princess Zelda watched as her Kingdom sprang from its dormant state. Beauty and light was restored once again, thanks to the Hero of Time.

In the distance, Link saw what appeared to be a shadow. Wanting a closer look, he ran past Zelda and gazed at what was before him. "What? Am I so beautiful that you have no words left?" With a smile, he ran to her, and gave her a large embrace. "Okay, Okay, Link, you're crushing me." Midna turned even bluer than normal when Link released her and kissed her cheek. "I've missed you, Midna. I though that you were..." Interrupted by a soft "Shh." and a finger to the lips, Link seemed to melt in Midna's arms.

"Hello! I'm Princess Zelda!!! I'm the one you're supposed to fall in love with, Link!" the princess said, but Link paid her no mind, her voice fading out in his ears.

Link, Midna, and Zelda stepped up to the mirror. "Well, I guess it's time to take my leave from this world of light, but it has grown on me. Princess Zelda, if everyone in this world is as kind as you are then you'll be alright. Link, I...I...Link! I'm in love with you!" Midna reached for Link's hand, but her tear shattered the mirror. She was pulled into the World of Twilight. With the pathway broken, Link knew he'd never see his love again. Saddened and hurt, Link walked over to Epona, mounted his steed, and galloped to Ordon, crying.

Depressed, He rides into the village. Ignoring the cheers of all the villagers, he goes into his house and collapses on his bed. After what seemed to be an eternity of sobbing, Link fell asleep. Hearing a knock on his door, he decided to ignore it. Who would it be at this time? But something roused him. A giggle?! Midna's giggle! He jumped up and ran to the door. He opened it to reveal nothing. "I must be losing my mind," he said to the wind. He closed the door and walked to his bed. "I think you lost that in the Temple of Time," said Midna. Link looked up and ran to her. He knocked Midna and himself down to the bed, his lips never leaving hers. "Calm down my little wolf," said a very happy Princess of Twilight.

"Well, when I confessed to you and the mirror broke, I made to the other side when I realized my mistake. So, I confessed this to the Elders, and they decided to send me back here and elect a new Princess. I want to be here, with you, Link."
