A Short Story
It was a peaceful night in Shugazoom city, but not for Sprx. Definably no, as he sat there where everything felt distant and dark. He felt his mind clouding up on him again.
"…When…will this ever be…over" He heard nothing, felt nothing, and saw nothing but the darkness. "Guys…where are you? Is anyone there? …" He shut his eyes tighter. It felt like hours had passed, though he knew it had only been a few minutes.
He had already forgotten everything, everything except for one thing: He had been betrayed. "How could he have done this to me…?" He couldn't believe what was happening to him. Trapped in such a nightmare with no possible escape.
A sound rang out from the darkness and his eyes shot open. Darkness. He stared harder but he still could not see.
The darkness seemed to be closing in on him and he shut his eyes again. "Guys, why don't you come? How can you leave me like this? …" Silence. Sprx shivered and curled his tail around himself.
Suddenly a sound broke out from the darkness, like a whip being cracked. He flinched when he heard a voice. A voice he secretly feared, who had tormented him into this dark and terrible place. "Sprx, get up…" It seemed to echo around him. "No… I'm not going to, you can't make me." He said. He waited for a response but none came.
Again he was left alone in the darkness. "Sprx?" This time Sprx jumped up. It was neither the tormenting voice nor the voice that had tricked him into entering this hell. But the voice of someone he knew. "Nova?" he called in the dark. All of a sudden his world was spinning.
Sprx opened his eyes and found himself back in the Super Robot. His head was aching. The others were standing around him. "That ought to knock some sense into him." Nova said as she turned her fist back into her hand. Sprx was dumbfounded. "What?" He got up from the floor.
As he looked over to the large screen on the wall, he remembered everything. He had been polishing his magnets when Otto came running up to him and telling him there was an attack. He rushed out to the Command Center only to find the others around one of his worst fears…and his tormenter.
But his thoughts were cut short when he was grabbed by the tail and dragged back to where Gibson was having his Science Lecture. "You sure are a good daydreamer, Sprx" Otto said cheerfully. The red monkey just groaned as the tormentor continued his babbling.
