Park: After Forever

By Chibi Lurrel

Quatre held his hand, leading him like child to a garden. But he was a child, having to re-learn things that had always come easily, naturally to him. Trowa head jerked around at the constant noise that ran around them. "Who…who all is here?" he asked in a raspy, low voice that was one of Quatre's few reminders of the Trowa he once knew. "It's a public park, Trowa. Don't worry about it." Blind eyes blinked in confusion, an old habit still partially hidden by brown bangs. Quatre smiled to himself and ran long, tapered fingers through his companion's hair. The scorched ends had to be chopped off in a cruel fashion, but he was glad they were growing back. Quatre smiled again, a melancholy ghost of the smile he once had, and squeezed Trowa's hand in his own scarred fingers. "The fountains just this way." Trowa followed his friend's gentle lead, dragging his hands along the shrubbery to his side. "Almost there." Trowa nodded, stopping when his guide did. "I can hear it!" he said with a half smile. "Here." Quatre gently led his hand under the smoothly running water of the fountain. He was glad his friend could not see the stares of the grown park patrons. "I'm glad we came, Quatre. But I miss seeing you smile." Quatre shook his head and squeezed Trowa's other hand. "Don't worry. You're not missing much." Trowa's fingertips brushed lightly over gnarled scars that covered Quatre's face. "You'll always be beautiful to me, you know." He said as he pulled the shorter boy into his arms. "I know, Trowa. I know." Sad blue eyes glanced at the people walking through the park, people who could only look at Trowa and him and feel pity for soldiers ravaged by war gone horribly wrong. A boy with blind, empty eyes and singed hair and another covered in scars caused by hungry shrapnel. He shook his head. "What are you thinking?" Quatre shrugged and leaned into his friend's warm embrace. "Nothing important." They kissed.

Author's note: Boy howdy. Not really happy with this, but it's sort of random and really short, but its the happy 3+4 I was talking about. I want to turn this into a series. It'd be fun. A little explanation: this is sort of an AU, I guess an alternate ending to Endless Waltz. (Which I watched last night, because I left my tape of Lensmen at my friend's house. I'm such a dork. _) Yah. Whoo. Chibi Lurrel has odd moods. Chibi Lurrel also lives in Texas, so she is flooooooooooded. It is sooo raaaaiiiiiny. Which is sort of cool, but all the parties for this week were cancelled. *Sigh* So I burned my tummy tanning for nothing. Ouch. Rain Rain Rain. I'm just glad I live in the part of *random Texan city* no one cares about, so we're not flooding either. Hmph. And, fun stuff: Go look at my profile, I drew a swank picture and photoshopped it cause I can't draw guns. *pets photoshop* So, I hope you're happy Pure Evilness cause you asked for a 3+4 in a review. Blah Blah Blah. I'm trying to make this look longer. O_ right. Review this now. ^_^  If you want continuation, tell me. I like feedback. *grabs her pink umbrella for a run in the rain*
