Chapter Three:

Fighting Back

By: Analyse Williams

I stand before President Coin. I hold my head up high and look confident. "Who votes for a Hunger Games for the Capitol's children." I look around the room. I finally raise my hand. "I do." I announce. President Coin looks at me. Then a smile spreads across her face.

"Ok then. It's settled. We will be having a Hunger Games for The Capitol's children!" President Coin excitedly announces. I walk away hoping that I just made the right decision. I have a plan. But I just hope it goes well.

Today's a new day. I agreed yesterday to a Hunger Games for the Capitol's children. Little do they know it was just an act. I stand before President Snow and President Coin. In my hand I hold my bow and arrow.

I point my bow and arrow at President snow.I stand there and draw it back. I get ready to shoot. I turn away and let the arrow go. Everyone watches in shock as the arrow strikes the target. I feel that I made the right decision.

I watch President Coin when she falls to the floor. President Snow let's out a laugh at the sight of me shooting President Coin. I'm sure he thought I was going to shoot him. But I felt I needed to shoot President Coin.

President Coin is the reason Prim died. She ordered to drop the bombs. I will never forgive her or forget what she did. I feel happiness spread through my body. I feel better now. I miss Prim. But I'm sure she would've wanted me to fight back.

I know that if she was here she would be super proud of me. I was strong and did what I believed was the right thing to do. And I did it all for Prim. She will forever remain in my heart. Later that day we visit Prim's grave.

Me, my mom, and Peeta lay flowers on her grave. I wrote Prim a special note, so I read it out loud before I lay it on her grave.

"Dear Prim,

I love you soooo much. You were the best sister I could have ever asked for. I wish you didn't have to leave us just yet, but I know you're in a better place. We all miss you. I have so many good memories of when you were here. I remember how I sang to you. It was the song I sang to Rue when she died.

Deep in the Meadows

Deep in the meadows, under the willow

A bed of grass, a soft green pillow.

Lay down your head, and close your sleepy eyes

And when you awake, the sun will rise.

Here it's safe, here it's warm

Here the daisies guard you from harm

Here your dreams are sweet and tomorrow brings them true

Here is the place where I love you

Deep in the meadow, hidden far away

A cloak of leaves, a moonbeam ray

Forget your woes and let your troubles lay

And when again it's morning, they'll wash away

Here it's safe, here it's warm

Here the daisies guard you from every harm

Here your dreams are sweet and tomorrow brings them true.

Here is the place where I love you.

Prim I miss singing this song to you. But, I want you to know I'm always thinking of you.

Sincerely,

Katniss"
