She sat on the wall, her long flowing blonde locks tied in a purple ribbon. When the young prince saw her, confusion ran across the young prince's face. Purple was a symbol of wealth. He grinned and walked up to the girl. "Excuse me, young maid." He called softly.
She looked down. "Hello, your highness." She responded. He smirked. "Could you please tell me, why you are wearing a purple ribbon?" The girl smirked back at the prince. "It was a gift from someone." She responded in a light, dismissive tone.
"Who?" He asked, running his finger across the brown, stone wall she sat upon. She leaned down so their faces we're inches apart. Her lips parted slightly, a seductive smile on her lips. Her forehead touched his, her green eyes glowing. "You." She whispered before jumping over him into the crowd.
"Prince Tantus." One of his guards said in recognition. "You do realize that was Hannel Birthen?" The guard looked alarmed that the prince didn't receonginze his child hood best friend. "Hannel?" the prince asked in pure curiosity.
"Yes." A soft voice said. He turned his head and saw her older sister holding a basket of strawberries over her head. Her curly blonde hair flowed down around her face. "Kara!" Tantus said in alarm. She chuckled softly at his dismay.
"She kept the ribbon. She still loves you…I just hope you realize it." Kara said before turning and walking away. Tantus sighed and brushed a strand of black hair. "Tell my mother, Ishtar, and my father, King Kail, that I'm going to be late for the dinner party tonight." He said with a smile creeping upon his lips. He started to stalk off into the crowds, in search of a girl, with dirty skin and beautiful blonde hair with a ribbon that symbolized royalty.
"LET ME GO!" the girl hissed at the guards. "You're wearing a purple ribbon! Purple stands for royalty! You must have stolen it you stupid grub!" the guard yelled in her face. He lifted a hand and cracked it across her face.
"You're the queen's guard, right?" the girl asked. She tilted her head to the side with wonder. "Yes." The guard said, standing up tall with pride and a grin plastered onto his face. "Hmm. I find it hard to believe." The man looked alarmed. "HOW!" he demanded from her, raising his hand again.
He lowered his hand as the girl started to speak. She shrugged and spoke in a soft and gentle voice. "Queen Yuri Ishtar respects her citizens. She would not even give a thief this kind of treatment." The guard looked stunned. "Bitch!" he said raising his hand.
